Roy City Council had approved the original change in the citys sign ordinance after consulting with the students on the size needed for the proposed marquee.. The students had told the council 75 ROY square feet would be adequate for what they were proposing. This week they were back. The sign ordinance was not going to allow the size sign the students wanted to install. Dennis Remy of the Marveon Sign Company told the council the students would like to put up a 105 square foot marquee, but with the current ordinance it wouldn't be allowed. Consumer Price Index 260.5 larger lot size and wider frontage areas. Mobile home subdivision of this nature would be located on five acre parcels of lands. This aspect of the proposal raised some concerns with council members who were afraid in the current economy the city could become swamped with this type of housing. Assistant Mayor Earl Morris said, This could hurt the image of the city. The hearing is to be continued at the next council meeting. A decision on whether to annex thirty acres west of the city was also postponed, for the second time, to wait for additional information on taxing districts and sewer drainage. During the last council meeting the hearing on property owned by Jesse i Holmes began. A number of residents living in the areas surrounding the proposed annexation which lies east of midland drive at approximately 3775 S. Midland Dr. showed up to protest the annexation. The council has identified that the property, lies in its proposed area for eventual annexation, but is concerned over the five taxing entities which are currently involved with the property.
