In saucepan, combine water, sugar, cinnamon and lemon peel. Bring to boil; reduce heat. Simmer 10 minutes. Chill. Remove cinnamon sticks and lemon peel. In punch bowl, combine spiced lemon mixture, cranberry apple drink, soda and lemon juice. Add ice and float lemon cartwheel slices in punch. After this a special program for the entire nursing home residents was presented. Some members of a sixth grade dance club from Burch Creek School performed. The club members gave small fruit plates to each resident at the conclusion of the program. Utah Homemakers met last week for its December meeting in preparation of their annual service project. The project chosen for this year was providing Christmas for 18 residents at the Wasatch Care Center who have no families. Each member of the Lakeview Chapter was given the name of a man or woman whom they would provide gifts for Christmas. Many phone calls and visits were made to find out what these people needed and wanted. Measure sliced fruit and add three cups water to each cup of fruit. Let stand overnight and in the morning boil for 10 minutes. Let stand until the next day and then boil for two hours. Measure again and add one cup of sugar for each cup of fruit mixture. Bring to a boil and cook for one hour, stirring often or until the mixture sheets from the spoon.
