Show Emery County Progress Castle Dale Utah Small rain tornado tears News article effective enough: (Continued from page 4A) now. In my conversation with Hiatt the ribbon cutting ceremony lead to a discussion about the name of the ball field. According to Hiatt none of the other ball fields in Castle Dale have a name. Cheddar Field was a nickname given to the new one that stuck, and only one person was upset about its name. Well, Im not sure I agree with that statement either, after my conversations with the public recently. That discussion lead to all the work Dorsch did at the field, and the fact nobody should question him regarding his projects because according to Hiatt, If Joel says hell get it done, hell get it playing on other cities have sat up and taken notice, and are now saying, Hey Casde Dale has a new ball field, maybe we should build one. Some of the residents from the county who have called didnt feel any new ball field in Emery County needed to be built. With the countys population looking at a decrease in the next two years after Trail Mountain closes down there will probably be less teams, in all age groups. One caller even expressed exasperation over die field being designated for use by the high school teams. Since the school district wont let the public have access to the recreational facilities at the Spartan Center, why should we let them use the public baseball field? she questioned. Regardless of whether it should have been built or not, its there. No one showed up at any public meetings to protest it being built prior to actual construction. We need to take advantage of this new public facility and see it is used. Now its time to look to the next project. Lets cross our fingers (and toes if it will help) in hopes Castle Dale receives the grant money for the playground so it can be put there too. When that happens, why not volunteer a few hours to help with its construction? Councilman Doug Weaver, now responsible for the project, will be happy for any assistance Im sure. done. He went on to say how much work Dorsch had already put into the ball field, revealed the Recreation District had contributed $32,000 to the project, and said in all actuality the ball field should never have been built in Castle Dale, because the city didnt need it. He said the city already had two ball field. If another ball field was needed Hiatt indicated he felt the new ball field should have been built in either Huntington, (according to him its present field is a lawsuit waiting to happen) or Ferron, because its field needs a lot of improvement, but Dorsch was the only one willing to build a new one Hiatt said. Hiatt claims now that the new field is being through Cleveland June 19th At approximately 3:05 p.m. on Monday June 19th, a small, rain tornado moved through parts of the town of Cleveland and then headed east. It is described as being a five to ten foot wide all white cloud that you could not see through. This tornado damaged the yard of South Flat residents Chris and Tina Carter. It is reported to have moved a swing set, and tore it to pieces, one of the pieces being recovered in a neighboring field. k&- W.- -t - 13 On May 12, 2000, 1 ordered a floral arrangement to be delivered to my mother in Orangeville, as a gift for Mothers Day. I gave specific instructions about the flowers I wanted to be included in the Spring Like Bouquet. I clearly and specifically requested that Lilies be included. The of price $34.45 was agreed upon and the amount charged to my credit card. My husband and I visited my family in Emery County over Memorial Day weekend. Imagine my surprise when I saw the arrangement that had been delivered to my mother. There were no Starflowgazer Lilies, only iook-a-lik-e ers and 4 carnations. This is not the bouquet I specifically ordered and is certainly not what I was paying good money for. On Thursday, June 8th, I called the floral shop and spoke to a woman, who identified herself as the business owner. I explained to the woman the circumstances surrounding my purchase and then expressed my disappointment in the service I had received. In return, I was treated with the most unprofessional, rude and obnoxious behavior of any busi- ness owner I have ever met. There was never so much as an apology, never an offer to fix the situation - not one solution! This was not the first time I had done business with this specific vendor or the first time I have had trouble with an order. I chose to give the floral shop the benefit of the doubt and it is important to me to support local business owners whenever and however I can.
