Show Emery County Fair 2000 10 About the Fair by Kathy Justice It's the end of a century and the beginning of a new one. We feel that it is appropriate we look forward to new beginnings and a bright future. We choose this year the theme Dreams Can Come True". As we look back at the past we choose to honor a; the fair this year the farmers and ranchers of the county. The centifry farmers were chosen to represent all the farmers in the county at the fair. Farmers selected have had their farm designated as a century farm through the century farm program. They had to document proof that the farm had been in their family 100 years to qualify. Agriculture is and has been a v iable industry in Emery County for a long, long time. We felt it very fitting at this time of the turning of the century to honor these great people that have tilled Union. It is free and fun for young and old alike. Please visit the cen- the best of the best of lamb frys. All entertainment at the lamb fry is free each night for your enjoyment. Entertainment will feature artists from all over the intermountain west and that great local entertainment we all enjoy so much. The Baby Olympics and Pet Show are back with the annual Kids Day at the Fair. Bring your d children for this event. The feature of the day will be a magic variety show full of ter at the fair and enjoy this magical entertainment. and taken great pride in their lands and in Emery County. Also at the fair this year are so many fun things for families to be involved in for free. We have science the traveling hands-ocenter DISCOVERY from Utah State University sponsored by n Desertview Federal Credit unique experience given to all by Desertview Federal Credit Union. This year the lamb fry will prove to be bigger and better than ever. The Emery County Chamber of Commerce has been planning for many months to create much-enjoye- There are youth dances, sporting events, biking events, tornado climbing wall, Emery County Fair Horse Races, PRCA Rodeo, Rodeo Dance, Square Dance Jamboree, Utah Farm Bureau Talent Find, Cowboy Poetry Contest and Greatest Story teller Contest, and the return of the Midway West Carnival with more rides this year...all for you to enjoy at the Emery County Fair. The Emery County Fair Exhibits will be shown at the Museum of the San Rafael. Stop by for a look. Exhibitors from all over the county will exhibit everything from agriculture to fine arts. Much appreciation is given to all who have made this fair possible. The many great busi nesses in Emery and Carbon County have made many contributions through advertising and prize donations. Come and win one of many prizes given away each night at the lamb fry. We also would like to recognize Emery County Fair Commissioner Randy Johnson, the Emery County Commission and all the many volunteers.
