Show Emery County Progress Castle Dale, Utah Tuesday October 24, 2000 OBITUARIES ELMO Our l -- loved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Sully Dawn Brinkerhoff Staker Atwood, (12, returned to her Heavenly l ather Oct. 1!), 21)00 in Sait Lake City, following a vuliunt battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 28, 1 007 to Jm'k Calvin and Iona Relx-ccJones Brinkerhoff in luntingion. She married James M. Staker June 4, 1954 in the Manti Temple. He passed away Feb. 8, 1988. She later married M. James Atwood in the West Jordan LDS Temple Jan. 7, 1989. She was raised in Huntington 1 and has been a homemaker and rancher for most all of her life. She was a very devoted wife and mother, and also was a member of the LDS Church and served in many stake and ward positions. She loved to Cameron, N.C. ; Natalie (Darrell) Gardner, Cleveland; 38 grandchil- garden, sew, quilt and cook and canning, singing, and writing poetry. She enjoyed working the land and her greatest joy and love in life was found in her family. She was in 1992 by President Clinton to sene on the Federal Farm Service Agency Committee. She is sunived by husband, M. James Atwood, Elmo; children, dren, and nine Also surviving Deborah (Dennis) Jones, Elmo; Allen (Connie) Staker, Huntington; Sandy (Jim) Behling, Fbrron; Shelly (Doug) Pottengor, Boise, Ida.; Kristi (Kirt). CLEVELAND - Ellis Dclcinu Curtis Johnson, age 87, passed away at the Finely County Nursing Center in Fcrron on Saturday, Oct. 21,2000. She was born in Huntington on March 8, 1913 to Guy and Elluwcas Bradley Curtis. She was raised in Cleveland and was a longtime resident of Emeryr County. She workwl several jobs, including a riveter for aircraft construction and a nanny in California. She worked at the I Vice Bakery and was a wonderful homemaker. She loved working outdoors and also enjoyed beautiful work with crochet and handwork. She lived and worked in many places around the w'orld and was a very active hard worker. She was a member of the LDS Church and, in her later years, was able to go through the temple. She is survived by her devoted family of three sisters, Anna Addlaid Allred, Cleveland; Guyla Schlesinger, Brigham City; Don Vernon Jack" (Lucy) Curtis, Huntington; Tessie Boneta Elfring, Ephraim; many nieces and nephew's.
