Show July 2002 Carbon County Business Review 13 Community Nursing Services: Growing with our communities Community Nursing Services (CNS) was established in 1929, to provide nursing care for people in their homes as an alternative to hospitalization. CNS began as a voluntary, non-prof- it agency, when the existing Visiting Nurses Association of Salt Lake and the Private Duty Registry were combined. CNS grew over the years to one of Utahs largest Home Health Agencies, and is now the oldnot-fo- r est profit CHAP accredited Home Health Agency in the State of Utah. CNS is the largest Medicare home health provider in Utah. Community Nursing Services has worked to promote home health care in Carbon and Emery Counties since 1994. From 1994 to 1999 CNA cooperated with Southeastern Utah Home Health Agency in the Utah Home Health Coalition, to enhance the availability of care to individuals with private insurances throughout the state. Community Nursing Services opened a branch office to serve Carbon and Emery Counties in June 2000 with home health and hospice care. Linda Beal, RN, MSN, is the Branch Manager and Pcnnie Olsen is the Office Manager. Our first offer was located in the Jensen Law Office Complex. After outgrowing our original space, we moved to our current location at 59 South 700 East in early July 2001. Since we moved, we have had to expand, knock out walls, and add more office spaces. Since our branch started, we have grown from our original 4 employees to an organization with over 40 employees, all dedicated to providing compassionate, high quality home health care to people in Our Price office employees represent oxer 290 years of health care experience, and over 130 years in home health cane. Our employees are our most valued resource and the building Wot ks that make CNS the company you and your family should consuier as your Home Health Provider.
