JAN IS a graduate of Davis High School where she was a English Sterling Scholar, a Junior Class and studentbody officer and a graduate of the LDS Seminary. In 1981 she graduated from Weber State College. She was awarded Scholar of the Year honors at Weber State. She is working on her M.A. degree in ancient history at the Umversi-t- y of Utah where she is a teaching assistant. Jan has maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout her college career LAYTON - Elder Brian William Ranson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ranson of 726 Sapphire St., Layton, has been called to serve an LDS mission in the Minnesota, Minneapolis LDS Mission. Justin Palmer won state competition in the American Legion Auxiliary annual Poppy Poster Contest.
