Robinson of 1458 W. 1750 N., Layton, has completed recruit training at the Coast Guard Training Center, Cape May, Orchestra Students Receive High Ratings Many Layton High School plund and Nora Cross received orchestra students received a superior rating but did not superior ratings at the Region One Solo and Ensemble Festival held Feb. RECEIVING this honor were Peter Asplund, Charlene Call and Christina Taurone, all for violin solos; Deborah Benedict and Scott Barnes for flute solos; Dave Allred for a trumpet solo and D.J. Holbrook for a trombone solo. A THE STATE solo and ensemble festival will be held April 4 at BYU. DURING THE k training cycle, trainees studied general military subjects designed to prepare them for further academic and training leading toward their qualification in one of the Coast Guard's 26 basic occupational fields. Included in their studies were first aid, seamanship, Coast Guard history and regulations, close order drill and damage control.
