Show WEEKLY REFLEX-DAV- NEWS JOURNAL, MAY 19, 1977 IS Ruby J. Price Addresses Layton Kiwanis Club Ruby J. Price, Utahs 1977 Mother of the Year, speaking to the Kiwanis Club of Layton at their regular morning breakfast meeting on March 14, 1977, recounted her experiences leading up to, and resulting from, her selection as mother of the year. MRS. PRICE noted that it costs about $2,000 to travel to New York and compete in the National Mother of the Year Contest, which is beyond the means of a school teacher like her. She thanked various organizations w ho had provided financial assistance to defray expenses of the trip. The choice of mother of the year is based on religious, political and community service. Mrs. Price is a member of the Church of God and because of her belief that alms should be performed before God and for His glory rather than to be seen of men, her religious and community service has not been well publicized.
