Mrs. Wanda Seeley and her mother, Mrs. Pearl Edstrom of Rexburg, Idaho enjoyed a LDS Temple tour with the James Tours. They visited the Mrs. David Sanders and daughters, Jen and Judi and son Mark, attended the blessing and naming of her brother's son who was named Joshua Lyman at the Clinton LDS Ward Chapel. Joshua is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Lyman. Recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs Henry Nieman were Mr. and Mrs. Neils and two children and Mr. and Mrs Ray Miles and daughter Sheila and her son, for four days. Miss Ruth Bowman underwent major surgery last week at the LDS Hospital in Salt Manti, St. George, Mesa, Los Angeles and Oakland Temples. Mrs. Betty Richins of Ogden visited last week with her brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. William Packer. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Thurman of Grover, Wyoming visited recently with her sister and brother-in-laMr. and Mrs. Leslie Draney. Mr. and Mrs. Thurman came to be with their son, Nixon Thurman in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Hess recently spent a few days in Mesa, Arizona helping her parents, Mr. and Mrs Lawrence Turley move from Mr. and Mrs. James B. Harvey, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Doritt Brough, Mrs. Ruth Harvey, Mrs. Elaine Palmer and Mrs. Ruth Schick attended the golden wedding anniversary open house of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Bosworth at Brigham City on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bosworth are the parents of Dr. Wayne Bosworth of Layton. House guests of Mr. and Mrs John Marshall were her sister, Mrs. Susan Veater of Pocatello, Idaho and her mother, Mrs. Donna Carver of Long Beach, Calif. They came to help with the new baby daughter, born on March 8 to Mr. and Mrs. Marshall. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse R. Dredge and family were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse R. Dredge Sr., Malad, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs Wade Quinlan and family of Mendon; Mr. and Mrs Brent Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Wright and family attended a family dinner on Thursday in honor of his sister and brother-in-law- , President and Mrs James E. Mi's Valie Garrett family of Farmington for the past 86 years. THESE TINY soft black shoes were purchased in 1891 in Wichita, Kansas and John Mark was the first one to wear them as an infant. They were kept in the family and when he was married to Valie Shepherd, these little shoes were one of their prize possessions. It became a tradition for each of their children to wear these shoes when they were blessed and named They had seven children. Then when the grandchildren arrived the same tradition was carried out and also for the greatgrandchildren who are still arriving. MR. GARRETT died in 1965 and Mrs. Garrett, who is now 82 years old, makes sure this tradition is still kept. They had the seven children, 20 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren blessed and named wearing these adorable little shoes She has a picture with each of the 41 descendants The latest being her John Bryan Bull, who was blessed and named great-grandso- on Sunday by a of Clinton. John Bryan is the son of John and Annette Sheffield Bull and he is their first child. They are like new and have size one stamped on the sole. MRS. GARRETT has lived in Farmington the past 32 still active in her Relief Society where she has served as a visiting teacher for the past 59 years. She taught Primary also and is a member of the Helen Mar Miller Daughters of Utah Pioneers Camp of Farming-ton- . years. She She does her own house work and enjoys her family and friends. SHE IS the mother of the following sons and daughters, who have worn the tiny baby shoes as well as all of their families.
