He is the son of Mrs. Leontine A. Tanner of 189 S. Main No. Layton. 17, COL. TANNER graduated from Davis High. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17. Later, he returned to Utah and graduated from the U. of U. While he was attending college, he worked nights to pay for his education. HE AND his wife, Petra are the parents of five girls, Laura Lee, Karen Lee, Valerie, Brenda and Hope. Colonel Tanner is presently stationed in Brussells, Bel- gium. dmg Saturday, March 26, will be the annual Miss Kaysville Contest. This event is sponsored by the Kaysville JCKs and Kaysville City. The curtain will go up at 7:30 p.m. Admission will be 50 cents. THIS YEAR there will be ten young ladies vying for the title of Miss Kaysville and the $250 scholarship that goes with it. Other prizes will be a $50 savings bond, and $25 savings bond and other prizes supplied by local merchants. This a junior at Davis High School. Her honors at school include Truman. National Honor Society, class vice sophomore years director of the pageant is Mrs. Jackie Debbie Ferrante, age 18, is a senior at Davis High School. She is the daughter of Frank and Beverly Ferrante. At Davis, she is a member of the Student Council, the gymnastic team, and is on the honor role. She plans on attending Brigham Young University to major in special education. TAMI JEPPSON, age 17, is president, pep club president, accompanist for the ACap-pell- a choir, received a superior rating for her piano solo at the Solo and Ensemble Festival, and has had a childrens story published. Tami plans on attending Ricks College and majoring in music. Kathy Layton, age 18, is a IMCORUE TAX In 8 Yrs. KATHY ROBBINS, age 16, is a junior at Davis High School. America Mrs. Virginia Larson recently returned home from a bus tour vacation to the Mardi Gras. The tour group left Salt Lake City on Feb. 14. They traveled to Price, Moab, Monument Valley, Cortez and Gallop, New. Mexico. The second day, they visited old Albuquerque. Mrs. Larson was very impressed with an old Catholic Church that they toured in Albuquerque. She learned that New Mexico is the only state that LAYTON DEPT. A book review was given by Ellen Dibble, the daughter of Mrs. Dibble. Refreshments were served. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Dibble, Mrs. Verna Hill and Mrs. Norma Martin. j Mrs. Deborah Christensen is home from the hospital. She underwent an appendectomy. Mrs. Sam Wilson and her daughters, Wendy and Jodi of Bountiful visited last Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Leo Hill. after graduation. Margo Southworth, age 16, is a junior at Davis High School. Her honors in school include the National Honor Society, a cheerleader and a member of the gymnastics team. She plans on attending Brigham Young University and majoring in elementary education. She is the daughter of Maurine Southworth. prints the U.S. Constitution in two languages. Two languages are taught in school and most printed literature is also El Paso, Tex. and Juarez, Mexico were other interesting stops. Since Mrs. Larson is from Texas, this part of the trip was very special. In Del Rio, she was able to visit her 80 year old mother. San Antonio, the Cradle of Texas Liberty is an important shrine to all Texans and Americans alike. Mrs. Larson toured the Alamo and ate lunch on the banks of the Casa Rio. Other stops included Hous-tiLake Charles, La., Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Adams is improving at home after enjoying the Mardi Gras. They were able to travel through the French Quarter in a horse drawn wagon. On the way home, the KOTO bus passed through Natchez, and Vicksburg, Miss, and into Fort Smith, Arkansas. This was the home of Hanging Judge Parker. Oklahoma City, where they have oil wells on the capitol grounds, was another stop. Mrs. Larson could see evidence of the drought and dust storms as she traveled. After a final farewell party in Denver, the group returned home on Feb. 27. Rex Morgan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Morgan, has recently been released from a hospital in France where he was undergoing treatment for an illness. Rex is in France serving an LDS mission.
