HUNTER was a graduate of Davis High MRS. School. Active in the LDS Church, she had served as Relief Society president, Primary president and as a teacher. She was a member of the Layton 12th Ward at the time of her death. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 26 in the Layton 12th Ward for Mary Crosson Hunter, 35, of 370 Whitesides, Layton. Bishop Haven J. Barlow conducted the services. SURVIVING are her husband of Layton; three sons and one daughter, Scott James Hunter, John Larry Hunter, Michael Warren Hunter, Patricia Ann Hunter, all of Layton. Her mother of Layton and one sister, Mrs. Preston (Betty Jane) Merrill, Orem. MRS. HUNTER died Jan. 23, 1977 in the University Medical Center in Salt Lake Interment was Memorial Park, dmg in the Services Held Mrs. Myrtle G. Michael, 53 of 646 W. 300 N. in Clearfield died Saturday, Jan. 22 at her home of cancer. Funeral services were held Tuesday. MRS. MICHAEL was born March 24, 1923 in Heber City, Utah, a daughter of Noah and Lila Ahistrom Giles. She was married to Richard J. Michaels on March 30, 1946 in Heber City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Clarence W. Surviving are her husband and two daughters, Emily Marie Dowdle and Judith Kay Dowdle, all of East Layton. Her parents of Groom, Tex also survive her. The accident occurred Jan. 19. SHE WAS born May 15, 1941 in Amarillo, Tex., a daughter of George H. and Effie Marie Coffman Latta. On April 9, 1971 she was married to James K. Dowdle in Corpus Christi, Tex. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. MRS. DOWDLE had resided in Layton and East Layton since 1973. He is the son of Thomas V. and Dorothy Young Wall. He married Norma Anderson on July 28, 1948 in Elko, Nev. in Ogden. Mr. Wall lived most of his life in Layton. Thirteen years were spent in Idaho. Burial was in the Kaysville Layton Memorial Park, dmg Desert Trip To Tooele 20 Year Service Pin The Layton Community Church Boy Scout Troop went to the desert around Fairfield in Tooele County Saturday, Jan. 29. THEY HIKED up a hill and cooked their lunch on the trail. The group had an interesting experience as their lunch was cooking. A rock around their fire exploded, causing the skillet their hamburgers were cooking in to fly up in the air, and flip over, spilling out their hamburger. Hill AFB. Bishop and Mrs. LeGrande Simmons spent two days with Mrs. Simmons parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Okelberry in Goshen. Last fall, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Walker and family were able to take a very special month-lontrip to England and Wales. Mrs. Walker is g originally from England and although her parents now live in the U.S., many of her close friends and relatives are still in Sheffield, England. They stayed with one of Mrs. Walkers cousins. Their children had the opportunity to spend one day attending an English school. From England the family traveled to Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. This village is the birth place of President David O. McKays mother. Here, Mr. Walker acted as the best man for the wedding of a friend, Michael Midgley. The two men became well acquainted when Mr. Walker was serving a LDS mission in Wales. They continued to correspond after Mr. Walker was released and the wedding of Mr. Midgley was an exciting reunion for the two friends. Mr. and Mrs. David O. Mockli are the parents of a baby girl who was born Jan. 25 in Ogden. A Saturday snowmobile party in Preston, Idaho was the birthday treat for Carrie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rasmussen. Other birthday activities included dinner at home in Layton on Carries brothers Sunday. and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Waite of Syracuse and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Waite and daughter, Brooxie of East Layton attended the Sunday celebration that was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Simmons went to Idaho Falls last weekend to see their son, Bill who is recovering from knee surgery. Mrs. Simmons spent three days in Idaho the week earlier so that she could be with her son at the time the surgery was being per- formed. Bill has been living in Arco, Idaho since last fall. Darrell Taylor has been promoted to the position of procurement analyst at Hill Air Force Base. He replaces Eldon E. Sill who recently ' retired from Hill Field. Christy Karras, Michell and Stacy Darais and Julie Hammer were treated to a girls only dinner by their mothers, Mrs. Lyle Karras, Mrs. Larry Darais and Mrs. Brent Hammer. Brothers and fathers were left home while the mothers and daughters enjoyed the evening out. Rulon Mrs. and Mr. Thornley spent last weekend in Springfield, Idaho. Their son, Neil, was made a member of the Springfield Ward Bishopric. Neil and his wife, the former Karla Nalder, have been living in Idaho about seven months. Neil is working on the LaMar Wight Ranch. After spending two weeks in San Jose, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Taylor have returned home. They enjoyed visiting with many friends that they when made they lived in Calif. One outstanding activity the Taylors especially remember was the chance they had to participate in square dancing and round dancing with their former dance club members and square dance caller. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rasmussen have returned home after traveling to Golden, Colo, to see Mrs. Rasmussens brother, Robert Dial.
