To depart for her honeymoon coro-vovv- s. charm-husban- rr By Mary Bow ring People who live in Syracuse are friendly, efficient and imbued with a community spirit that makes them know their hometown is the best place on earth to live and raise a family. The Gordon Hansen family is no exception. Once rural, Syracuse is now a growing community of modand ern, attractive homes modern, attractive homemakers. Such a homemaker is Darlene Hansen. Her warm home bids an inviting welcome to the visitor. Nearly always is the dtdectable aroma of fresh baking coming from the family sized kitchen for Darlene bakes all the bread for her husband and three children, Jerry, 16; Jean, 11; and Jill. four. This means that she bakes three loaves of bread every other day. Gordon is a native of Syracuse and Darlene came from Ogden, Now Gordon has a lumber company in Ogden, but they prefer living here to raise their children. On a table in the living room, you will nearly alwajs see an intricate jigsaw puzzle in the process. Darlene says she pre fers it to TV and it is majbe ... even a bit more stimulating. Everyone is tempted to try to put a few pieces m place as he goes by. Church and civic activities take a good deal of the Hansens time also. One of the favorite family dishes Darlene makes is a casserole called Chopstick Tuna. she For special occasions, dresses it up with slivered almonds, but her family prefers-it plain.
