Heights, Farmington and intermediate county atea sounds lug when officials talk m teims of $Do million initial cost but, on the other hand, by subti acting the benefits fiom the cost, and dividing bv the number of persons who will help to pay for it, we feel the project cost is not high, is not out of our reach, but rather, is a very desirable and necessaiv imyio ement tor growing Central Davis County Benefits from properlv treating ( ur sewer, include, at the top of the list, health, and not far behind, the ability to grow by providing new tamilies with adequate services for their new homes. Kaysville must have a treatment plant, and wil have to do it alone, if the thiee cities will not accept tl i savings possible by joining. We think Farmington, too, must surely do away with their present inadequate sys-- i tern and consider proper treatment. Fruit Heights hasl no sewer treating facilities, and must consider it highly important if the area, which by the way is ideal re-- idential land, is to grow Establishment of a sanitary sewer distiict is the lirst step in building the outfall lines and treatment plant. A district may he started in three ways by a petition to the county commission from a ceitain num- her of persons living in the area under consideration. by the commissioners themselves, or by putting the proposition on a ballot. We believe the county commis.sionci s should strongly consider going ahead on their own in setting up a sanitary district for the area The people will still have an opportunity to accept or reiect the proposal when the bond issue tomes up lor a vote and tne first election costs would be eliminated 1 1 ba-eb- 1 -) ath-mnt- ei -- bov-an- n 1 i This Week s Old Photo . that congratulations go to the Davis Distiict School Board tor its choice of Superintendent ot schools to? replace retiring Samuel Morgan No better man could have been tound to till the t vacancy left by Mr. Morgans retirement than George Harold Holt. lie, like his predecessor, is a gieat friend to education.
