PLEASAN- T- Senior citizens will hold an annual Mothers Day Fair, on Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Tickets for a quilt will be available on Friday, April 9, 16 and 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, April 10, 17 and 24 from 10 to 12 a.m. and 4 to 6 During the fair chili and clam chowder will be sold for lunch or take out. Interested persons are encouiaged to bring their own container. The bake sale will focus ou pies and cookies and candies, and a craft table will feature many new items. Katherine Parry, daughter of Chris and Ramona Parry, Mt. Pleasant, has recently returned home from the Argentina Cordoba LDS Mission. She will speak at 2:45 p.m., Sunday, April 11, in the Mt. Pleasant Sixth LDS Ward. . Members of the Fountain Green First and Second LDS Wards combined choir recently sang at the dedication of the Fountain Green LDS Church building. The choir was led by by Jessie Oldroyd Mariana Schulze and accompanied on the FOUNTAIN GREE- N- H.Dee organ by Betty Mikkelsen. The family returned to visit on her birthday. MANT- I- In the last four months 4-has held contests for Quick Meals, Egg Preparation, and Beef Ambassador with the results of these contests as follows. In the Quick Meals contest, held Feb. 11, contestants were required to prepare a meal in 45 minutes. Terra Despain received first place in the junior division. In the intermediate division, Natalie Mellor received first place, Kristi Despain took second and blue ribbons went to Jessica Despain and Stan Jensen. Charlene Mellor received first place in the senior division. y In the contest, held Feb. 18, participants were required to prepare a dish and give a three to five minute talk. In the junior division. Terra Despain received first place. In the intermediate division, first place went to Kristi Despain, second place to Jessica Despain and blue ribbons went to Stephanie Boore, Alex Jensen and Stan Jensen. Students who participated in the Egg Preparation Contest which was, held on March 11, were required to prepare an egg dish along with a three to five minute talk. In the junior division, Koal Ady received first place and Terra Despain received second place. In the intermediate division, Jessica Despain took first place, Stan Jensen received second and blue ribbons were awarded to Andy Bartholomew and Stephanie Boore. The Beef Ambassador contest took place on March 18. Participants were instructed to prepare a dish with ground beef and give a three to five minute talk. H Five-A-Da- The Uinta Springs Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP) held their March meeting in the DUP home with Arlene Farnsworth conducting. The lesson, "Pioneers of Piute County", was given by Glenda Smith and the history of Catherine Winget was given by Wanda Johnson. Lunch was prepared and served by LaVon Coombs, Georgia Mikkelsen and Virginia Nielson. Five-A-Da- Attending were Ronald R. and Angela Ivory and children Jerime and Michael; Ronalds sister Eola and Glen Mikkelsen and family Michelle and Nathan Wood, Debbie and Scott Toner; Scott and Genny Mikkelsen. Other guests were Georgia Mikkelsen, Dora Spencer and Jessie Oldroyd. Joe Allred, son of Bryan and Susan Allred, Fountain Green, received his Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor held March 21. For his project, he planted trees around the new Fountain Green Elementary School.
