Those who need eye surgery, not glasses, and feel burdened to pay anything toward surgery, call the National Eye Care Project at and they will to take to the letter a process doctor they recommend with no (Like I often say, you cant get away from Sanpeters. Theyre everywhere!) They were in Lava for the "Dance of Peace" which involved a bunch of people who are into metaphysical philosophy and healing arts, etc. We were disappointed because there was not a room to be had in town because of the event. We had our "soak", then decided to "make like a jackhammer and hit the road." Driving home, my thoughts were that with a little publicity and development of resources, Sanpete could be a destination for more events that we currently host. I believe we may even have some geothermal resources that could be exploited for recreation and "healing" purposes. People are out there looking for places to "dance for peace", get a change of scenery, take in nature, learn of local history and folklore, view wildlife, (have you seen the vehicles stopping to view the elk in the area?) etc. People in the Wasatch Front area are looking for weekend getaways. We just need to put some good ideas under their noses and theyll "take the bait." We need to somehow make' it easy for the "family activity director" to say, "Hey honey, lets go to Sanpete County and spend the weekend. Theres lots we could do there. Id love to try out one of the Bed and Breakfast places down there. Ive heard its a unique experience." I believe' that Sanpete is gradually making headway in the business." "hospitality Promoting Highway 89 as a "Crafters Corridor" has good potential. We do have a great resource in our bed and breakfast facilities. As more and more people enjoy what Sanpete has to offer, the word will eventually get out to a greater numbers of folks. We just need to be ready for them ...Merrill How was your weekend? The Easter weekend wasnt exactly what youd call a "fun in the sun" spring break. Reports I have heard, from the region, show that winter is still clinging in spite of daffodils and tulips. Even the weather in normally warm places, like Moab and St. George, was nothing to envy at Eastertime. Just because the calendar shows spring, it doesnt always mean that its time to do a complete wardrobe shift. I heard that the kids on ."break" in St. George didnt care what the weather was like. They were going to dress in shorts and tank tops no matter what. 1 took a one day, up and back, Saturday Easter excursion to that world famous Spring Break mecca to the ID. You may chuckle, but we did find some "swimsuit weather". On the way home from the Pocatello event, (my aunt and uncles 60th wedding anniversary shindig), we sidetripped off the freeway over to Lava Hot Springs and "took in the waters". We were perfectly happy relaxing in the hot water while catching snowflakes in our mouths. Its an interesting and contradictory visual experience to watch people walking around comfortably in swimsuits with cold temperatures and snow falling. (I was going to say that it was interesting watching the girls. But that would get me in trouble, so I wont mention it.) They have a few motels and inns there which capitalize on the hot springs. It had been quite a few years since I was in Lava, but it appeared that the "rest home" where my grandmother once resided has now been turned into a bed and breakfast type inn. It was there that I ran into a former Sanpeter, now a Salt Laker. We had a good visit. 0, like-mind- ed o, . the works, but hand lines will 'selling the old gym until the SPRING CIT- Y- New business district is finalized.
