Lewis married Ida Leota 13, Anderson, June 1928, in the Manti Temple and had the privilege of spending 67 years of with Leota happiness before she passed away, September 25, 1996. Lewis was a farmer all his life. Worked at the Moroni Feed Co. seventeen and one half years. He served as a 2nd counselor in the Bishopric of the Mt. Pleasant 2nd Ward, ward and stake School Sunday president, home teacher, High Priest Group, sec. of the Mt. Pleasant 3rd Ward. Served a two year mission with his wife to Australia, president of Seventies Quorum, four years at the Visitors Center Manti. She was born Feb. 5, to 1913, in Mayfield Abinadi and Stena Awi-ld- a Willardson Nelson. She spent her early years in Mayfield, Cleveland and Gunnison. She married Peter Loyal Christensen on Feb. 6, 1939 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they started Hazels Cafe and later Loyal's Place, which became a popular billiards parlor during World War II. He died Jan. 26, 1981. In 1950, they opened in Lila Lee Apparel Gunnison. She was very active in civic affairs and had a great love of gardening and flowers. She was recognized by The Salt Lake Tribune in a feature article about her Germany, wonderful brothers: Lucian (Ada) Nelson, Salt Lake City; Morris (Norma) Nelson, St. George; Reed (June) Nelson, Tempe, AZ; sister: Mrs. (Barbara Ann) Jay Anderson, Salt Lake City and Cleda Dee Thrasher, Victorville, CA; four grandchildren and three She was preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Flora Nelson and Shirley Myrup and brothers, Merrill and Glen Nelson and grandson Ron Christensen.
