A 31 -- year old female reported that at approximately 2 a.m. she was awakened by her dog barking inside the home. At this time she noticed a person standing at the foot of her bed with a flashlight and a handgun. The female who was watching the home for her sister while the sister was out of town, was in structed by him to give him the money that was inside the home. The male also told her that he knew there was money in the home and that he wanted it now. She told the person that she was not the owner of the home, and that she did not know about any money inside the home, but told him that she did have over $100 in her purse and he could take that if he wanted. There were two children asleep inside the home also. They were not awakened by the subject. The woman was ordered to get up and go down stairs, which she did. The subject followed her to the basement and into a bedroom where she was ordered to get face down on the bed and not to make a sound. Her feet and hands were bound with an electrical cord. She was told that after she could hear his vehicle leave, she could call out to the children to come and untie her. (The children slept through the entire encounter.) She stated that the subject went back upstairs. She could hear two people talking together and could hear them ransacking the upstairs for thirty to forty-fiv- e minutes. She then heard a vehicle leave. She cried out for the children to come and release her from the cord. She then attempted to call the police, however found the phone cords tom out. She and the children then drove approximately 10 miles to her father and mothers home and made the call to the police. Working with the victim, I was able to obtain the possible suspect who lived in a home in American Fork. 1 contacted the police in American Fork and was informed by them that the suspect and his vehicle was at his home. I requested the American Fork police to detain the suspect and any other males inside the home and hold them for me.
