Pleasant Public Library will present the third part of the Summer Childrens Hour Program today, June 25, at 11 a.m. The program is for children ages three to 10. This weeks "Monsters and Dragons" will feature an activity of making a giant library dragon which will be hung across the tops of the librarys book shelves. Games and stories about monsters and dragons is also on the agenda. Camille Barkley, Susan Barkley, Heather Anderson, Heather Oreno, Tammy Briggs, Joni Henningson and Kay Jensen met with the attorney generals and governors staffs where they gained a great deal of information to make their "Safe At Home" programs better. The group reaches out to people, especially victims from abusive situations who need someone to talk to, show support and concern, be a role model and teach young people that physical force is not an acceptable way to resolve problems. She was bom in Austin, TX where she lived until 1995 when her family was transferred with IBM to North Carolina. She is currently a Medical Science Academy fellow, a certified Emergency Medical Technician and CPR certified with the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. She has worked in a clinical internship at Western Wake and Durham Regional Hospital emergency rooms. She earned third place in the EMT competition at North Carolina Health Occupation Students of America State Leadership Conference and qualified to compete at the nationals in June 1997. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Health Occupation Students of America, Future Business Leaders of America and an Honor Scholar. She was voted the team captain of the Athens High Volleyball team, most valuable player and selected to the North Carolina Volleyball team. She has volunteered at the Cary road race and the "Old Reliable Wheelchair" community service races.
