Show Page Eight - The Pyramid - June 11, 1997 Five young women vie for Miss Spring City title Saturday Eight compete for title of Little Miss Spring City SPRING CIT- Y- Little Miss Spring City Pageant will be held June 14 at Spring City Elementary at 7 p.m., with eight contestants competing for the title. Those competing are April Brewer, daughter of Jude and Jonnie Brewer; Katie Hamblin, daughter of David and Roselle Hamblin; Amanda Olsen, daughter of Mike and Fonda Olsen; Mandie Dennison, daughter of Scott and Christy Jenkins; Nicole Soffe, daughter of Mark and Diane Soffe; Rachel Walker, daughter of Dan and Marli Walker; Breann Beck, daughter of Chad and Jackie Beck; Kristy Strate, daughter of Randy and Barbara Strate. The girls, between the ages of eight and 11, will compete in the SPRING CITY Five young women will compete for the title of Miss Spring City on Saturday, June 14, at the Horseshoe Mountain Lodge. A luncheon will be held immediately after the interview competition for the contestants and their mothers. The winner will be crowned that evening during the Little Miss Spring City Pageant at Spring City Elementary School. The other four will serve as attendants, and all will participate in various parades and activities throughout the summer. Those competing are Holly Hansen, Kristy Harmer, Elizabeth Parnell. L.my Watson and Katy Winona. areas of speaking, modeling and talent. The pageant is under the direction of Tracy Larsen, Julie Larsen and Susan Shepherd. John Allred will emcee and the public is welcome to attend. Tristan Holman, son of David and Nanette Holman, Orem, will celebrate his first birthday June 12, 1997. The group of Round Dancers out of Arizona are spending the week, learning new dance steps. The public is welcome to watch tonight (Wednesday), Friday, and Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Doug and Vi Hooper, who teach the classes, have built a home in Skyline Mountain Resort. She has been involved in the tennis team, band and concert symphonic choir. She is the only female member of the North Sanpete golf team, is a member of the National Honor Society, and has served for one year on the Mt. Pleasant Seminary Council. Elizabeth Parnell, daughter of Gary and Katie Parnell, will be a senior at North Sanpete High School. She has been a member of the regional champion tennis team, member of the business team, and member of the concert choir. Jenny Watson, daughter of Donald and Nanette Watson, will be a senior at North Sanpete High School. She has been a member of the tennis team and North Sanpete Spiriteers Drill Team; of Katy Winona, daughter Danny and Sheri Winona, will be a senior at North Sanpete High School.
