The show includes 13 large intaglio prints and nine large d gourds. The gallery is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. weekdays. Christensen spent her early childhood in Hawaii where she developed a deep love for the abundant variety of flowers that grew there. These floral forms later became a focus for her art as she earned a Masters degree at Brigham Young University in the 1970s. Christensens large prints are studies of the rhythm and flow of vines and flowers, a dance of line and shape. She carefully chooses the details to be included and arranges the forms to create a intertwining flow. Each print is hand-painte- "hand pulled" from the metal plate which the artist designed and etched with acid, then hand inked and wiped before pulling. Christensen Lately, began working with these floral designs on the surfaces of dried gourds. This produced some special problems and compositional considerations, which are very different from her work with the etchings. Each gourd had to be considered as a shape, and the flower form fitted to that shape. Then the arrangement of lines and shapes had to be planned so that from every angle the design was coherent. The gourds aie highly decorative and richly colored in oil paint. al It takes 30 coconuts to duce a gallon of coconut oil pro- A coid of wood is four feet wide by four feet high by eight feet long.
