Pleasant to Gus and Gusta Jones. She attended Hamilton Wasatch Elementary, Academy and graduated from North Sanpete High School. When her mother became ill, Carol age nine, became the caretaker of her younger brother and two sisters until they were grown and married. She married Abram (Abe) Burton Jan. 10, 1936, in Nephi; marriage was later solemnized in nondis- the Manti LDS Temple, March 31, 1956. He died in 1964. After her husband died, she ran a sheep ranch, worked at Wasatch Academy and raised cattle. She loved gardening and was an excellent seamstress. She also had a love of the outdoors, riding bicycles, motorcycles, snowmobiles and racing cars. An active member of the LDS Church, she served as Relief Society, counselor; Primary secretary and in Sunday School. She is survived by four children, Jarold Burton, AZ, Karen Tolleson, Burton, James Burton and David Burton, all of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Phyllis Burton, Murray; 13 grandchildren and five Carol J.
