PLEASAN- T- The Rowe family recently received their adopted retired racing Greyhound as part of a program to save young retired racers. Greyhounds make wonderful pets, according to Kathy Rowe. They are extremely gentle, loving animals, but unfortunately, not many people know this. The family applied to adopt a Greyhound from the National Greyhound Adoption Program, a Philadelphia-base- d organization which brings retired Greyhounds from the Florida racing kennels. All of the dogs adopted were destined to be destroyed, many only being one and years old. The National Greyhound Adoption Program is a tax end. t The tourney is open to males and females of all ages, shapes and sizes. Teams will be categorized based on height, playing ability and age. The top three squads from each division are invited to compete at the prestigious Triple Crown North American Finals in Denver, CO in September. The event will feature a fesstive atmosphere complementing the action. Hoops hot shots will have the opportunity to strut their stuff via slam dumk, shooting and free throw contests.
