PLEASAN- T- On April 6, 50 students were inducted into the North Sanpete Chapter of the National Honor Society. To for students .qualify membership, need to achieve a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and show high leadership, service and character standards. She not only is a voracious reader, researcher and questioner, but is able to express her findings and opinions in logical, concise essays and papers. PLEASAN- T- The Miss Mt. Pleasant Scholarship Pageant will be held Saturday, April 16, at 7 p.m. in the North Sanpete High School Auditorium. This years theme is "Forever Young". The pageant is under the direction of Lou Ann Rosenlof, Robyn Munk, Lois Tucker, Lori Bagley and Carolyn Finlinson. Contestants will be judged in swimsuit, private interview, talent and evening gown categories. Six young women will be competing for this years crown: Celia Anderson, daughter of Dan and Carolyn Anderson; Heather Estey, daughter of Michael and Michelle Estey; Jacci Herring, daughter of Jack and Mary Her next day found the Hawks matched against the West Winds, a team made up of athletes from Grand Junction, Green River and Price. The Hawks were ready for a fight. The West Winds made several runs at the Hawks, cutting the NS lead to five late in the game, but good defense and precise foul shooting carried the Hawks to a second win Steadman led scoring with 20; followed by Kjar with 12; Shelley,' 10; Dyches, 1; Ioane, 6; both Madsens got 3 each; and Bailey and Johansen both got 65-5- 3. two. This game put the Hawks in the championship game against Blanding, a team having won this tournament three or the last four years. They were fired up and looking to up their record.
