PLEASAN- T- Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Parry announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kamala, to Edgardo C. Galura, son of Norma C. Galura, Philippines, and the late Eduardo Galura. Rachel Syme named top Ftn Green resident The couple will be married on Saturday, Dec. 18, 1993 in the Manti LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor that evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Fourth LDS Ward building. FOUNTAIN GREE- N- Rachel Hansen Syme was honored last Saturday evening during the adult Christmas celebration as the The bride is a graduate of North Sanpete High School, where she also graduated from seminary. She has attended Southern Utah University for two years and will continue her schooling to earn a degree in elementary education. The groom graduated from high school in the Philippines and was also a graduate of seminary. He attended BYU, then served over five years in the Navy in San Diego. He is currently a radiologist at the Navy hospital in San Diego. He served an LDS mission to the Phillipines. The couple hopes to move to Salt Lake City to continue their education. citys Citizen of the Year. Mayor Dean Hansen celebrated her as an advocate of education and one who has spent countless hours helping others. She has donated her time and resources to the community, including the Lamb Day bus which she gave to the city. She was instrumental in bringing the clinic in to service the community and has served on the Nephi Hospital Board and with the Manti ASC. She has worked with the scouts and in many church capacities. She is presently working in the Manti LDS Temple. She was born in Fountain Green and has lived here all her life. She married Eugene Syme from Moroni, and they had three children, six grandchildren and two Edgardo C. Labrum announce the marriage of their daughter, Joey Lynn to Mori S. Speakman, son of Dr. and Mrs. Gene E. Speakman, Mt. Pleasant on Friday, Dec. 17, 1993 in the Manti LDS Temple. They will be honored that evening at an open house from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of the grooms parents, 186 South 300 West, Mt. Pleasant. They will also be honored at a reception Saturday, Dec. 18, from 7 to 9 at the Roosevelt LDS Stake Center. The bride is attending Snow College where she was of the volleyball team. She will continue her studies at the University of Utah. The groom graduated from Snow College, Cum Laude, in June. He is attending the University of Utah and working at the University Hospital. He served an LDS mission to New Hampshire. The couple plan to make their home in Salt Lake City. Each year Moroni kindergarten students have a Christmas g contest. The group will leave the center at 6 p.m.. Allred beginning Thursday, Dec. 16 through Jan. 19. A receptioii will be held in his honor Friday, Dec. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the main gallery. Osral was bom in Spring City in 1936. He graduated from Utah State University in 1963 with a B.F. A. degree and in 1968 with a M.F.A. degree. He also attended Snow College and BYU. Reindeer roundup LOOK WHO'S 40 HAPPY BIRTHDAY 283-437- 283-631- by Jessie Oldroyd FOUNTAIN GREE- N- A real live reindeer accompanied Santa and his sleigh when he came to town for the citys childrens Christmas celebration last Friday at City Hall. The charming little creature allowed himself to be fed and petted by the excited youngsters who attended the festivities. Children sat on Santas lap and relayed their wishes and were given sacks of goodies which were donated by the Lions Club. Pictures and decorations were arranged by the PTO, Carey Ivory, Lisa Collard and Michelle Walker. A blood pressure clinic will be held Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 1:30 p.m., at the center. Congregate meals are served Tuesday through Friday, at 1 p.m., in the Snow College Cafe8 or teria. Call Delila at 0 Leon at by 9:30 a.m. to make reservations. The last day in December for congregate lunch is Friday, Dec. 17, since the cafeteria will be closed for the Christmas and New Years holidays. The program will reopen on Jan. 4. Those interested in going to Salt Lake City to see "Legacy," can call Helen Rigby. If enough requests are received, a trip will be arranged. The Central Utah Art Center is featuring the art of "Three Working Guys," featuring Ned Ericksen, Mark Stewart and Daniel Vincent. The exhibit will run from Dec. 16 to Jan. 19, and will also feature the work of Osral Allred.
