PLEASANT- - All area quitters are invited to bring their quilts to the annual Fourth of July Hub City Days Quilt Exhibit which will beheld at the city hall, July 1,3 and Holli Keisel, Mike Helsten 4. plan wedding MORONI-- - Mr. and Mrs. Tim Keisel announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Holli, to Mike Helsten, son of Paul and Linda Helsten, Ephraim, 1, 1989. A reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening at the home of the bride. The bride is a graduate of North Sanpete High School and LDS Seminary. She was active in athletics, business and drill team. She is attending Snow College majoring in elementary education. The bridegroom is a graduate of Manti High School where he was active in football, wrestling and student government. He was also an Eagle Scout. Lynn and Viola Hunter announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Penelope, to Michael George Reading, son of George and JoyAnn Reading, of Sandy, Friday, July 7, 1989. A garden reception will be held July 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hunter, 186 North State Street, Fairview. The bride is a graduate of North Sanpete High School and LDS Seminary. She attended the University of Utah. The bridegroom graduated from high school in Sandy and attended the University of Utah. The couple is planning to live in North Dakota where the bridegroom is employed and Penny will continue her education. Elmer Mower to be honored on birthday FAIRVIE- W- An open house w ill honor R. Elmer Mower, former Fairview resident, on his 80th birthday, July 8, 1989, from7to9p.m at the Spring Lake Ward, 12625 Spring Lake Road. R Elmer Mower was born in Cluircreek to Ray and Melissa Ames Mower and grew up in Fairview He attended Fairview schools. He married Della Butler in 1934 and they have made their home in Spring Lake. He was a farmer and sheep and cattle raiser. His children are Della Mac Nielson, Salt Lake City, LaMai Mower, Altamont, Jim Mower and Mary Miller, Spring Lake. He has 22 grandchildren and 3 1 The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days. All quilts entered in the exhibit need to be at the city hall by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 30. Anyone having old quilts, especially heirlooms, new quilts, including tied quilts and baby quilts, they would like to display, are welcome. Area residents who have handicrafts they would like to display at the exhibit are also invited to show them. Those having quilts or handicrafts to exhibit can call a member of the committee or bring them to the city hall Friday. Officers are president, Paula Shelley, Kris Ann Cox, Elizabeth Eicher, reporter, Selena Seely; song leader, Benjamin Eicher Kathleen Eicher is club leader. The groups project is Cooking, Phase I W- Z 4-- H vice-preside- secretary-treasure- r, son will be at the display to watch the exhibit. The event has been one of the favorite parts of Hub City Days. Snow hosts concert EPHRAIM-T- he Snow College Division of Continuing Education will host the Lowe Family Entertainers in concert Thursday, June at the Crane Theatre. The Lowe Family is a professional in performing group, Provo, who have toured throughout the West They will be per- 29, home-base- d forming at Snow Gillege for a family reunion and are inviting the public to attend the performance. The Lowe Family Entertainers musical will perform an show with routines variety ranging from classical, program, popular, audience participation, to terrific hour-lon- g blue grass, country western, harmony vocals and clogging. Their instruments are piano, violin, trumpet, banjo, slap bass and mandolin They do practically anything and everything, sing, dance and play six-pa- rt instruments. The performance is being presented however, donations will be accepted and contributed to a local cause For more information, contact the Snow College Otlice of Continuing Education e, Heritage quilt show set July 8 EPHRAI- M- A quilt show and workshop will be held Saturday, Julv 8, at the Senior Citizens Hall, 85 West 100 North Sponsored by the Quill Guild groups of Central Utah, the woik-sho- p will be held from 9am to noon and will be on quick piecing a Star Quill There will be a charge lor the workshop The quilt show will be open from to 5 p m and is free to the public. The class is being taught by Tamaia Boren, Orem, who has taught at 1 BYU sewing conferences and in adult programs in the Utah Valley area Those planning to attend may bring fabric, rotary cutter and board, and a sew ing machine to work on a project or may just come and observe and learn the method to work on at leisure. PLEASAN- T- The Carnegie Library will be celebrating Hub City Days with special activities Saturday and Monday. On Saturday, July 1, a reading marathon will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Participants should bring a pillow, and may buy pizza, pop, and candy during the day. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place in four age groups: six and under (accompanied by parent), seven to eight, nine to eleven, and twelve and up. At 1 p.m. representatives of the local Blackhawk Camp of the DUP will present the last 12 volumes of Enduring Legacy to the library.
