I feel this years fair is as good Wilford Brimley, colorful actor and TV personality, will be appearing in the Sanpete County Fair parade and will be in the team roping event during the Saturday night rodeo. Brimley has appeared in movies inThe Natural, Electric cluding, Cocoon, High Road to China, Absence of Malice, and The Stone Boy. He has also Horseman, appeared on The Waltons, and is currently starring in his own TV series Our House on Sunday nights. Pleasant Grove man MT. PLEASANT was killed instantly when his vehicle overturned about 2 miles north of here Sunday. James Nielsen was northbound in an 81 compact pickup when he lost control of his vehicle about 6 p m., according to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Reynolds. Witnesses at the scene including one who had followed Nielsen from Ephraim indicated he was not using excessive speed and seemed to just veer off to the right side of the road. Trooper Reynolds said the vehicle was transported by ambulance to Sanpete Valley Hospital. The search was resumed at office, Leedrow Anderson, who wandered away from companions in the Deep Lake Area Sunday was located by one of the five teams of search dogs brought in from Rocky Mountain Search and Rescue. Mr. Lamb was also given an engraved belt buckle, and Mrs Lamb a plaque. Grandson dies in accident SOUTH JORDA- N- Kenneth Myron Hamilton, grandson of local residents, died Friday in a fall from a cliff. Mammoth Parade Clegg Championship Rodeo Cook-O- t i Spring City volunteers including teachers and parents and members of the Lions Club spent Saturday morning planting grass and sod on the steep areas around the front of the new Spring City Elementary School and kindergarten playground. I I Y,, MANTI Dana Watson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Watson of Spring City, will reign with attendants as Sanpete County Sweetheart over the Sanpete County Fair. Miss Watson has spent 10 years in the horse program, qualifying for the state horsemanship teams in the last four of those years. Taking second individually in state competition. She is an active member of the Sanpete Barrel Racing Association and competed in high school rodeo. Miss Watson has served as president, queen, high school rodeo president, recorder and has received numerous awards in the pro4-- gram. Dana worked at the Sanpete Valley Hospital as a Candy Striper and also worked part time at the Piccadilly Enterprises, in Mt. Pleasant. Her hobbies include riding and working with horses, sports, wat 4 v ' for Saturday, Sept. 14 to do more clean up and rock removal from the new school. The new school opened last fall. Principal Howell noted that the sod didnt go too far, but said it would help to keep the mud out of the building this year. Dana Watson reigns as county sweetheart 4-- H He is the son of Myron Alvin and LaFaye Shepherd Hamiltoa He is the grandson of Loraine anu Athaleen Shepherd, Mt. After a delicious meal featuring steaks and Anita Lambs famous and traditional homemade scones, a program followed with Craig Larsen reading a special tribute to Mr. Lamb, who has been President of the Association for over 30 years. Mrs. Lamb was also lauded for her great support. Nielsen was thrown out after the first roll and was killed instantly from massive injuries. His vehicle was totalled. Congressman to hold meetings MT. PLEASANT U.S. congressman Howard C. Nielson, Third District, will hold town meetings in Sanpete County Sept. 4. Meetings are scheduled in Gunnison, from 4 to 5 p m. at City Hall Library; Manti, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at City Hall Club Room; Ephraim from 7 to 8 p.m. at City Hall, and Fairview 8:30 to 9:30 p m. at City Hall.
