In the stats, Snow won, in the score, it was Dixie's game. But its the numbers on the score board that count, not those in the stat books, and the loss ended Badger hopes of tournament play. Snow College tallied 17 First downs compared to only 13 from Dixie. The Badgers tallied more passing yardage compared to 82; rushing yardage compared to 69; more 90 more 217 compared to 151. The Badgers were penalized fewer times. They had to punt less, but the telling statistic is that Snow College was intercepted four times and Dixie only once. The first score came when Dixie quarterback, Ben Bubak, rifled a six-yar- d pass to Dave Larson in the end zone with only 58 seconds left on the clock in the first quarter. Snow answered that score when John Hardy recovered a fumble on the 31 yard line and after inching the ball forward only slightly, Larry Hanson kicked a field goal from the line of scrimage at the line. Snow had another chance to do the same thing in the same quarter while Jon Hardy fell on a second Dixie fumble on the 32 yard line, but this time Larry Hanson's toe just couldn't make the 33 yards needed for another 3 points. All in all the Badgers pulled olf, a winning seasbn with 5 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties.
