Show Local students named to Hansen Honor Society WA to dedicate historic building On October 2, 1978, Wasatch Academy was officially listed on the National of Register Historic Places by the Conservation Heritage and Recreation Service and by Dr. William J. Murtagh, Keeper of the National Register. In keeping with these high tributes to the historical significance of Wasatch Academy both in the State of Utah and our Nation, Wasatch Academy be will dedicating one of the historic campus buildings to be known hereafter as Fierce Historical Hall on Saturday, May 26, at 10:00a.m. The building is located on the corner of 200 West and 100 South. In 1911, Charles Lee Johns became Principal of Wasatch Academy. Mr. Johns began a great expansion program. He lx)ught the Petersen home in 1912. The building was first used a a dining hall; after a time it was remodeled and becatne the home of Mr. Johns. Later Coach Ernest Rrunger, who was with Wasatch from and who, still today, is an honored resident of Mt. Pleasant, occupied the home with his family. Through the years the building became known as Indiana Hall and housed many different faculty members. Pierce Historical Hall has been named in honor of Martin and Beverly Pierce, not only for their munificence in behalf of Wasatch Academy, but for their continuing to contribution our culture as Patrons of the Arts, both historic and James family. 1924-193- modern.
