OUR CHRISTMAS NUMBER. We take it that the Reflex management will be pardoned by its subscribers if it appeirs a little ,Jchesty" at this time. The truth of the matter is The Reflex bunch is pretty much swelled up over its Christmas number, and if strong, unsolicited commendation will excuse such a feeling, we surely have the excuse. When we told our friends that we proposed to issue a Christmas number that would be superior to any published in the state outside of Salt Lake City, they smiled good and wished us success, but when the paper was placed in their hands it was instantly seen that we had made good our promise. The Reflex is proud of the edition and only wishes it were better. The paper was issued under great difficulties in many ways. We were short of help, both from an editorial and mechanical standpoint. The vvorko; the edition embraced every phase of the printing business and in eluded the taking of many of the photograph for the engraver, au all the work was performed in The Reflex office, right here in Kay--vill- c. The people of Kaysville and Davis county have hown their appreciation for our effort ami over seven hundred extra topic-o- f this edition have been scut to points outside of Davis county in the state and to other statc-Man- y copies have been sent to England ami Scotland and a few to South Africa These papers were purchased bv individuals in quantities of from one to thirty copies at 10 cents each. 'I'. A Ilnlltps secured the lirst coiiipkt cd copy of the paper ami handed out a dollar for the same, refusing to take his change. Appreciation has also been shown by new subscribers and paving ahead on old subscriptions. The edition was printed at a loss from a monetary standpoint, but in the end we expec to reap our reward by increasing subscriptions and patronage. Following vve print a few of the expressions of commendation we have received on this edition Geo.
