SCOFFIELD still resides alone and keeps her home tidy and neat as well as herself. She is an outstanding citizen of Kaysville and has contributed much to the community in her lifetime. She is the oldest living native of the community and Kaysville is proud to claim her. She is an inspiration to all who know her or have had any association with her. MRS. SCOFFIELD was born Oct. 28, 1885 in the same home in which she still lives. Her parents were Samuel and Mary Barnes Flint. She was married to George Scoffield who died in 1948. She feels that the secret of staying young is in keeping active. While her family was home, there were few idle hours, if any. with 1? children t . .ook after. She n.'t onl kept a cle n home, but also prepared all the meals with no prepared foods as there is today to assist w ith and made their clothing along with church jobs and other responsibilities that came along. SHE IS remembered for her beautiful quilts, not only those she made for herself, but the many she made for numerous people in the area, well over 100 in all. Her handiwork was always a work of art and she won many prizes in the county and state fairs for her quilts and her beautiful embroidery work. She is an interesting conversationalist and always makes her friends and family feel welcome. She also always had time to lend a helping hand, her neighbors and friends have nothing but praise for her. SHE HAS been active in her church and has served over 55 years as a visiting teacher in the Relief Society organization. perhaps with her positive attitude and her friendly disposition and a strong desire to keep active, she erjoys life and spends much of her time visiting with her children and friends. Her children include a son Seymour Scoffield, who did reside in Layton but recently built a new home next to his mother; Roland Scoffield, Bear River City; Don Scoffield. Three Forks, Mont.; Chester Scoffield, Townsend, Mont.; Mrs. Lucille Robbins, and Mrs. Bernice Caldcrwood, both of Tremonton; Mrs. Bernice Oyler, Garland and Mrs. Ada Dewey of Ogden, np Cold weather, it appears, is here.
