0 has been ordered by the state board ol 01 equalization the principal increases in the list pertain to the raising of the assessment on I 1 horses 1 and cattle in a graduated s scale cale in the various counties some of the being as reat as 35 per cent while some are as to low as 10 per cent no changes in the tile valuation of sheep have been ordered it being considered ly by the board that this problem was settled for the present when the whole matter was thres rid over at lengthy sessions salons ae of tup the boord two ears ago id lt ll 1 ahal the work of the assessor assessors in some sections of the state has been much more wore favorably regarded reg regal aided led by the board than the valuations made by the men doing the work in other portions la is clearly indicated by the wide divergence between the limits of the raise for instance in the valuation of cattle carbon emery grand washington Nas hington and vayne layne counties the increase in valuation Is placed at 25 per cent while in morgan plute sevier sum nil mit t and some other counties the ral raise se Is only 15 per cent As regards horses the difference I 1 even more pronounced the raise in box elder county Is placed at 35 per cent while a majority of the other counties of the tile state escape with a balse of 10 per teut t the assessment of davia davis county Is the only one that remains en entirely tirel unchanged while the proposed raise in the assessed alu alua atlon tion will increase in rase the revenue to the state by about it la Is ex planed by of the baird that this Is not the prime motive in ordering the readjustment which is simply designed to render more equitable the burden of taxation the board believing as it does that in many cases the busts of valuation has been too low read to mar
