Answer: Y es, coyotes are a animal in Utah and they can be taken either by legal hunting or trapping without a license. This is not the case in some surrounding states. In such states, you need a license to hunt jackrabbits and everything else. Although you do not need a license to trap coyotes, your traps must be legal. The traps must be marked with the trappers name and address, must have a spacer between the jaws and must not be placed within 30 feet of any exposed bait. New this year is a regulation making the trapper responsible for bait which is buried next to the trap. If for any reason bait such as a jackrabbit becomes exposed after being buried, covered with leaves or a thin layer of dirt, such will be considered as using exposed bait and the individual given a citation. If you catch a bobcat by accident release it to the wild if possible or if the animal is dead, turn in the hide to the Division. You may not possess any fresh bobcat hide without the proper permit and tag. MHS NEWS By Keetha Euieri p 1 p love Terry Halsey very dearlv for the kind of person he was. Terry Halsey was also a very valuable member of the jeep posse in Millard County. Many lives were saved because of his great efforts. I dont think anyone ever thought of him as having only one arm and one leg because he didnt act as though he did. He was able to do just as much physicially as anyone else in the posse. Dorothy and Terry Halsey were our years, neighbors for most of my growing-uand cant think of anyone who could have been better neighbors. The whole family is very special to me. Their daughter, Kay, used to babysit us. I'll never forget Marvin ringing our doorbell early every morning to get my brother, Kelly, out of bed so that they could get the chores done and get on with their day of play, Terrilee was closest to me because whe was always about my best friend. We spent many summer days days very together. I miss those growing-umuch and having the Halseys living next door. The United States Postal Service is sponsoring a nationwide student postage stamp design contest. The design chosen from throughout the school systems will be used on a future postage stamp. The winning design that was chosen to represent the Fillmore area was created by Karen Hunter, a junior at Millard High. Her design featured a red, white, and blue liberty bell. Congratulations Karen! Interment Cemetery. the Many men and women from Millard County have served the United States of America during the wars which have taken place during this century. Some have even given their lives. But how many have returned home without an arm and a leg and tried to have some sort of normal life, maybe even getting some peace or happiness in spite of their great handicap? had the distinct privilege of growing up next door to one great man who did this very thing, Terry Halsey. He didnt have to lose his arm and leg-- he could have come home completely whole and normal, but if it hadnt been for him many of his fellow soldiers would have died. He made the choice to live the rest of his life with only one arm and one leg so that many of his friends could live. But, believe is or not, Terry Halsey was not handicapped. As a child I always thought of him as being the nicest man on the block. I just loved to go play with his daughter, Terrilee, and visit with him while I was there. He was always teasing us or telling us funny stories. I don't believe I ever saw him depressed or feeling sorry for himself. He would always be repairing a loved doing mechanical car-- he things. People were always bringing their cars and lawn mowers to him because he was one of the best mechanics in town. In fact, whenever I had a flat bicycle tire the first place I would go was to Terry. He never seemed too busy to take the time to repair a small girls bicycle so that she wouldnt have to waste the rest of the summer day with nothing to do. Id always say to place them on feed early enough them to choice grade. toget 8.
