Those of you who wish to send Terry Christmas cards may send them to the Provo Mission it pfScipio Scene m By Pat Wasden U Lj The DUP Round Valley Camp held their Christmas meeting, Wed., Dee. 1, at the home of Darlene Memmott. Capt. Georgia Ivie presided and welcomed each daughter. Christmas songs were conducted by Maxine Lorraine Monroe, Chaplain Robins gave the opening prayer. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Georgia. The history of Benjamin Johnson Sr. was given by Connie Quarnberg. She also read Christmas thoughts. Christmas songs were sung after which, light refreshments were served by the Hostesses, Darlene Memmott, Alice Lawson, and Esther Memmott. Others attending were Maxine and Ethel On Dec. 10, an open house was held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the new firehouse. Light refreshments were serv ed. Thank you" goes to very special Larry Robison. This young man started the ball rolling which made it possible for Scipio to get the new firehouse. We appreciate your efforts Larry and all those of the Mayor and Scipio town board. Another big Thank You to all those terrific volunteers who worked so hard on the firehouse. A Super job done by Super people. Mrs. Mary Wasden has lots of reasons to smile! Her husband, Myron, has been in Salt Lake recovering from an illness. A Home. We are so proud of our girls volleyball team. They won an award for the most improved team! The girls are true winners. They have really worked hard and played well. Look out for these fantastic girls next year. They are going to be hard to beat . LaMar and Gwen Monroe attended a Christmas party given by the ASCS staff in SLC on Wednesday. Mary Nana Monroe visited with her parents in Scipio over the weekend. Mary is teaching high school Home Economics in Mary will be going to Salt Lake to spend the holiday with Myron and his daughter in SLC. He is feeling so much better he will be coming home soon. Noel and Ethel Robins had a lovely visit lla Mathews, Mary Wasden, Robins, Connie and Hilda Quarnberg, Ruby Quarnberg, Eileen Thompson, Colleen Edna Memmott, Lorraine Monroe, Bradfield, Arlene Memmott, and Georgia Dayton, Idaho. Del Wasden brought his son, Judd, and three of Judd's friends from Orem to spend the weekend with Lloyd and Nola Wasden. The boys spent one night at the farm cabin and had fun in the snow with their ATC's. The good people of Scipio are not without their Humor! Now if you will picture Mom spending hours decorating a lov ely Christmas tree. Mom leaves the house for a while. Good ole Dad is in charge. Everything will be right? WRONG good ole Dad goes downstairs to watch TV, leaving the kids alonewiththetree. Now, picture Mom entering the living room. She looks around and the lovely at the home of their daughter, Linda Harrison, and her husband, Dennis, in Littletown, Colo. Their grandson, Kurt, was home on leave from the army. The Robins visited the Air force Academy in Colorado Springs. They even attended a fun rodeo They got to see a lot of pretty sites and had a very nice time. The Wallace Ivie family held their annual Christmas party last Friday at the home of DeVon and Glenda Quarnberg. It was very special as all five daughters and their families were able to at lend. Ivan and Jams Robins' baby, Dustin Thomas, was blessed last Sunday. A family dinner was held after the meeting at the Robins' home. Noel and Ethel Robins, Wallace and DeVon and Glenda Georgia Ivie, Quarnberg and family, Don and Carolyn Bunker and family (of Fillmore), attended the special gathering to honor the newest member, Dustin Thomas Robins. Isic. A plate of cookies was given to each daughter by the presidency. A Christmas card was signed by each daughter and sent tothe daughters livingaway from home. Mr. and Mrs. Mont Robins and Mrs. Fillmore Monsen of Tona spent Thanksgiving weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Monsen and family in SLC. On Friday they attended the Barber Shop Quartet Festival. Tona stopped to spend a few more days with the Monsens, before returning home. LaMar, Pat and Kevin Wasden spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Wasden and family (formerly of Scipio) at ihcirhomeinSLC. Mr. and Mrs. Del Wasden and family of Orem, joined his parents, Mr. and Mrs. for a wonderful Wasden Lloyd Thanksgiving holiday. I Vernon K1 smile fades from her sweet face. Haveagoodweck! i Holden Happenings By Flla Crosland Melissa Marie made her debut at the Tillmore Hospital Dec. 12th, weighing 8 lbs, 6 oz. Proud parents are Brent and Vickie Crosland. She has a big brother Shane and sisters Stacey and Cheryl. Grandmother is Beth Crosland, greatgrandmother Vera Nixon. A large crowd of relatives and friends attended the wedding reception honoring newlyweds Dale and Lnuly Coats Friday evening, Dec. 10th. Kathleen Stevens accompanied her nephew, Bruce Warner, his wife and family of Sandy to Ridgecrest, Calif, to spend Thanksgiving with her brother, Mont, his wife and family. Bruce and family then traveled to San Diego and visted Sea World and other interesting places. They all returned home Monday. Elbert and Lizzie Stevens drove to Cedar to enjoy turkey City on Thanksgiving dinner with their d tughter, Rayma and Herman Anderson, a.td family. We extend our sincere sympathy to Reuben and Renan Stevens with the passing of their mother, Melba Staples. We want to wish Elm Hofhines a speedy recovery. He had gone to Provo to spend Thanksgiving with his daughters and their families when he suffered a heart attack. He was a patient at Utah Valley Hospital for several days as he had a pace maker implanted. He is now at the home of his daughter, Ileen Farrer. Ivie received the sad news Dec. 5th that his sister, Dee Cowan, of Nephi has passed away suddenly early that morning in the hospital there. Funeral services and burial were held in Nephi Dec. 8th. At Sacrament meeting Dec. 12, Bishop Kent Swallow read a letter to the ward from Elder Jay Don Wilcox, who is serving in the He Mission. his and thankfulness expressed appreciation for being able to serve the Lord and bear his testimony to his strong belief in the LDS gospel. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Swallow spent days last week hunting for waterfowl at Clear Lake. His hunt was successful.
