Among these were Vin and Dora Whatcott, who had their son, Lamont, and his son, from American Fork, and another Steven, son, I aCirande. and son, Jay. from Pleasant By Other recent guests at the Whatcott home were Vin's nephew. Freeman Whatcott, and Ins wife, Mabel, from Santaquin, Utah. I reeman is the son of the late Rodney Whatcott, Vin's oldest brother. New Kanosh Ward Choir officers were last week. President Karl Starr and family have to the Provo area. Our thanks goes out for doing such a fine job. Our new president is Rowena Shields, with I eavitt Christensen as vice president. Thelma Oldfield will stay on as secretary. The choir plans to start putting together a Christmas program soon. We urge anyone who desires to sing in the choir to join us. The large attendance at the Missionary I arcwell at the Fourth Ward Chapel in Fillmore on Sunday, Oct. 31st, showed the great love folks have for Elder L. Glen and Sister Audrey Quigley, who have been called Mission. to serve in theOregon-Portlan- d They will enter the Missionary Training C enter on Nov. 10, 1982. Several friends from Kanosh were in attendance. This fine couple were happy to hav e their six children in attendance: Lilly, Roberta, Lewis, Tom, Jim, and Clara Ruth, and most of their grandchildren. Prayers were offered by sons Tom and Jim. Speakers included their son, Lewis, Don Rasmussen, President Condie, President Lloyd George, followed with a song by the grandchildren of the Quigleys, Grandma and Keesha fivers Grandpa Are Going On A Mission. Closing remarks were given by Brother and Sister Quigley. Sister Quigley was happy to have her 91 year old mother, Clara Gurgess, her sister, Bonita Joan Burgess, and Rice, her sister-in-lagranddaughter, Valerie (Whitaker) Whitney, and husband, Earl, all from St. George, in attendance. Meadow Moments B L.uella Edwards Visitors at the home of Wells and Audrey Brunson were her brother. Max Bennett of Inglewood, California and his Flolmute Werlick of Huntington Beach, C alifornia, The two men were returning home from a hunting trip in Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bennett have returned to their home in Woodland Hills, California after spending a week visiting at the home of Wellsand Audrey Brunson in Meadow and the Nlaughn Christensen home in Holden. Garys daughter Traciene (Bennett) Bocher came from Salt Lake bringing her aunt LaNila Kimball with her to visit with the Bennetts and the Brunsons. Mr. Earl Gooch visited with the Brunsons and other friends in Utah while here from his home in Clairmont, California. Shannon and Robyn Carling and Jane Christensen spent a day visiting in Provo with Olga Carling and her daughters. Mrs. Patti Pettis, Olga's daughter from Stockton, California, is visiting with them. Patti is recuperating from an accident she was involved in while vacationing in Hawaii. They also stopped in Spanish Fork to visit with Vera Brunson. Visitors at the home of Nolan and Della Bennett were their son Boyd, his wife and Five children, also their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Westphal and their son of I as Vegas, Nevada. Mrs. Laura Beckstrand was happy to have her son Therald and his son of Pleasant Grove and his daughter Pam of Gunnison spend the weekend visiting at her home. Pam is a Physical Education teacher at Gunnison High Congratulations to the Millard High School football team once again! They have made it past the first stage of the finals. Morgan came down to our home field for the quarter finals. The Eagles made a terrific performance and beat the T rojans with a score of . The Eagles will be playing their game in Payson at 1:30. Their opponents are the Wasatch Wasps. The Wasps are rated first in their region so we wish the team the best of Mrs. Dixie Allred of and children Springs ille were here helping her mother, Mrs. I ola D. Bushnell with the fall cleanup and visiting relativcsand friends. The Joe Stotts had their boys and their families here visiting and hunting with them duringthedeerhunt. 1 heron and Pearl Swallow's visitors during the deer hunt were their son Charles and daughter Sandra from California. I.ovd Beckstrand of Salt lake came to hunt with them. Mrs. Valate Greenhalgh recently returned trom a delight ul trip into Colorado with her daughter. Mr. Steve Anderson deserves a vote of thanks for the job hes done w ith the Millard drama department. The cast members are Jeanette Siarlcy, Stephanie Barton, Robert Muhlestcin, Ellis Peterson, Marcy Flynn, LeAnn Hare, Kelly Lowe, Darby Hinton, Thayne Robins, Chris Ewers, Kendall Krause, Paul Day, and Randy DcJon. The play will be held on January 9 and 10, 1983. FFAnews The FFA Greenhands will be installed By Angie Green : Hvlda Gaer and her brother. Dee Robison, drove to Salt Lake in their motor home a couple of weeks ago to assist in the home ol Hylda's daughter, Alberta Smith. Alberta entered the LDS Hospital for extensive surgery, remained one week, but after a lew days home was readmitted because ol lung complications. Alberta and Larry David have six children, ages 5 to 16 and Hylda helped with their care and preparing meals for ihetwo weeks Alberta was hospitalized. Hylda and Dec returned home just in lime to greet their cousins, Joe and Loy Aim of Denver. They came Friday, October 29 and left on Saturday. Mnle they were here they also visited their very dear friend, Dawn rimblc, and they also planned to spend some tunc in Salt 1 ake with Joes daughter. Joe has recently undergone open heart surgery and this trip was planned to give them some time to rest. Joe and Loy grew up in I illmorc. Their lalher, J. Albert Robison, was a half brother to Hyldas mother, Delia Robison. Harold and Mae Cahoon had the mid week of the company of their pleasure granddaughter, Robin Wood of Murray. She came on Tuesday, October 26 and returned home on T hursday. in their annual installation ceremony on November 3. The Greenhands are the members of the FFA Chapter. new Illness claims C. LeRoy Bond Calvin LeRoy "Roy" Bond, 69, of Meadow, died October 27, 1982 in ihe I illmorc I iospilat alter a lingering illness. He was born August 25, 1913 in C lear l.ake, Millard Coumy, Utah 10 Hyrum Jesse and lavina Bushnell Bond. He married Beryle , 1934 in Fillmore Chaplin on December Mr. Bond was a mechanic for ihe Union Pacific Railroad for several years and also for ihe Dearden Motor Company in Fillmore until his retirement in 1975. He is survived by his wife and three sons, Dennis LeRoy, Meadow; Ronald Calvin, Sandy; Dale Patrick, Delta; a daughlci, 15 Rasmussen, Yvonne Murray; three iwo grandchildren; Robert Glen Marshall succumbs V 1 Afton Memmott passes away Afton Memmott, 83, of Scipio, died November I, I982at thchomeofadaughtcrin I evan. He wav born September 20, 899 in Scipio to Samuel and Lmma Jane Stone Memmott. He married Merle Allen January 17, 1918 in I illmorc. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She died June 15, Robert Glen Marshall, 59, of Fillmore, was found dead October 29, 1982 at his residence of natural causes. He was born December 19, 1922 in Casper, Wyoming 10 Thomas and Anna Shortly Marshall. Mr. Marshall is survived by a niece, Myrtle M. DeLoge, of California; a nephew, Robert J. DeLoge, of Fillmore; and several of California. Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 2, 1982, at 4 p.m. in the Fillmore City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Mortuary, Fillmore. greai-niec- 1978. They also visited Mels mother, Agnes Johnson in Flowell. Early last week Paul and Dean Robison drove to Richfield and then on to Salt Lake to visit their children. The control hunt in the Kanosh area was of designed to alleviate an deer on the winter range south of Kanosh. 1 he winter in the area is in poor condition and the deer are forced onto agricultural land. As a result, the deer are doing considerable damage. Hopefully, this hunt will solve the problem without additional reduction of deer numbers. Jib 33 Chips yours if you are entitled to one. After the initial drawing, there were 79 permits remaining. However, on the second go round there were more than 79 applicants and not everyone wanting a permit will receive one. I usually receive a printout listing of all the permit holders, but have not yet received a copy. When I do, 1 will be able to let you know if you have a permit. If you have a valid muzzleloadcr permit and a control permit, you may hunt on the control area for a doe during the muzzleloader hunt.
