Bob and Jean Phillips were happy to have two of Bobs CCC buddies drive down from Salt Lake to spend the day with them. David Johnson, Stanley Wells, and Bob were among the group of CCC boys from Missouri who arrived at the camp here in Kanosh in the early part of 1936. David is the husband of the late Myrth Stephenson of Holden, and Stanley married one of our Kanosh girls, Olive Barney, who has also passed away. Bishop David Christensen took charge of the graveside services Indian the at Cemetery on Thursday, Sept. 2nd, for Janice Louise Pikyavit, daughter of Earl and Verna. He also dedicated the grave. The rest of the services proceeded according to the Indian customs, which were very impressive. It has been observed through the years what a closely-kni- t family the Earl and Verna Pikyavit family is. A tribute of love was shown to Sue Ann and the family when two carloads of high school girls from Millard High came for the services. They play on the volleyball team with Sue Ann. Valerie Whitaker Whitney from St. George spent a few days in Kanosh doing some canning, with some help from Mom and Dad (Glen and Lilly), who took her home on Saturday. Glen and Lilly Whitney hosted a Sunday School party at their home on Saturday evening for the following By Dathel Whitaker Russell Paxton and the Don Paxtons were in Salt Lake City Aug. 29th to attend church and hear Bryan Rust report his mission. He served two years in England. He is the son of Alvin and Lauretta (Paxton) Rust. They few to England to meet Bryan and lour different places, for three weeks. They all returned home on Aug. 23rd. Kent Planter and Tonya Kay Poindexter have set Sept. Nth for their wedding day. Kent is the son of Robert and Colleen (Paxton) Palmer of Bountiful. Visiting the Keith and Bill Turner families and other relatives in Kanosh, have been Alice and June Rogers Gorman and husband, Tony, from California. Alice spent a week in Kanosh and June and Tony stopped here on their way home, having attended Tony's 50th class reunion in Nebraska. Guests at the home of Blaine and Minnie Penney on Sept. 1st and 2nd were Harold Penney, his wife Verla, and their little granddaughter, Michelle, (daughter of Ross). Harold hadn't been back to Kanosh for five years, so had a lot of visiting to catch up on. They also drove over to Richfield to see his sister, Wilma. They crowded a lot of activity into their weeks vacation by attending Verla's family reunion at Payson, Utah and also taking their daughter, Laura, to Idaho where she enrolled at Ricks College. Harold is a government so travels accountant, extensively. They have recently moved from Santa Ana, California to Concord, Calif. Willard Dathel and Whitaker enjoyed August 3 st and Sept. 1st doing temple work at Provo and the Jordan Temple. 1 While in Salt Lake City they spent some time visiting with Dathels mother, Juanita Charlesworth, at the Royal Arms. The three of them walked over to Temple Square and took in one of the tours. They enjoyed listening to the Tabernacle Choir at their special practice on Tuesday to evening, preparatory at October singing Conference. As Willard and Dathel were leaving her mothers, they spotted Wilford Whitaker, Jr. among the throng of choir members walking down the sidewalk toward the parking plaza north of the Royal Arms and enjoyed a chat with him. Wilford, who did extensive genealogy research on the Whitaker line, is now engaged as a researcher on the Hickerson line. He related interesting experiences he has had recently doing research in the state of Tennessee. Willard and Dathel were overnight guests of their son, Rav Whitaker, and family in was Hamburgers and pop were sold during the evening. Bart Watts spent a few days in Kanosh with his mother, his inbetween Neca, starting again on Tuesday at Deanna Hurst and her six children from Sandy are enjoying a short stay with her parents, Olaf and Blanche George, in Kanosh. Sacrament Meeting Sunday was conducted by Counselor Gordan Staples. Bro. Staples reminded the congregation that the Deseret Industries' truck would be at the Stake Center at Fillmore on Saturday, Sept. 11th, from 11 a.m.to4p.m. was School Sunday reorganized. While here they had their infant son blessed and given the name of Ryan Daniel Ashby during Sacrament and Testimony meeting. Dean and Karen Denning and sons were visiting parents, Garr and Doreen Ashby, and grandma, Ethel Ashby, over the Labor Day weekend. Leland and Dora Mae Thompson and son, Reggie of Midvale, visited at the home of the Warren Croslands Sunday afternoon. Visiting during the Labor Day weekend with their parents, George and Rhea Dean were Stephenson, and Robyn Myron Stephenson and two children of Richmond, Utah, Preston and Roberta Stephenson, Hoyt and Margie Stephenson all of Bountiful. Ninety three decendants of the Edward F. and Maude Stevens family gathered at the Ward Chapel and Park Saturday for a reunion. The day began at 9:00 with a tour of the town for the children. At 10:30 they assembled in the recreation hall where a program was enjoyed as each family group was represented. Lunch was served at the fireplace after which all left for Delta and the home of Helen S. Baker. Here, those that wanted, went for boat rides, water skiing or iust wading in the water. Others just visited. At about 6:00 they again assembled to enjoy grilled hamburgers, etc. Families here were Mont Owen. and wife and three children of Mrs. Wood Ridgecrest, Calif, joined his Cherryl accompanied her mother, father and sister, Orvin and Edith Dearden, and sister, Kathleen, a grandson, Bruce Gwen Evans, to Bountiful Warner, his wife, and family Sunday to visit daughter and of Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Stephenson recently returned from a two week vacation in the northwest.
