The 16 groups of Teen Angels which I organized and taught gave this pledge each time we met and did our very best to practice its principles each day of our lives. The pledge is as follows: I give my pledge as an American to save and faithfully defend from waste the Natural Resources of my country: her Air, Soil and Minerals, her Forests, Water and Wildlife. No matter what we do to make a living, we can practice the suggestions given in the Conservation Pledge. Have you ever wondered how our lives became so regimented? Who decided a working day for wages consists of eight hours? A mother's working day with no wages whatever consists of from 16 to 16 working hours each day raising a family, and she is on call 24 hours a day. I am not a member of a womens liberation society, nor do I believe in equal rights for women, however I do believe in equality; a woman has just as many good qualities as has a man and one sex is not superior to the other. Their good qualities do not have to be in the same fields of action. As a rule, men are stronger than women physically; however, women are more tenderhearted, more forgiving and more lovable. I also believe that men are responsible to the inferior position in which women are placed today, when it comes to settling the affairs of the various nations of the world today. Even in the last 50 years, had women been given equal opportunities with the men for formulating polices and rules which govern the different nations of the world, we would never have another war. Because man from the beginning has used his superior strength to dominate women, our whole political and educational systems have been geared to the progress of men. y Lo .C?
