Nebo Training School, we became aware of the fact that there are quite a few people who dont know very much about the school. Some know nothing at all. We became invohed with the school in 1977. We were told that this district could no longer fund the Day School here and our only hope was to see if we could gel these students in the Mt. Ncbo Training School at Ncphi. We were very reluctant about this. The Supt., Mr. Church and members of the Social Services arranged for a bus to lake the parents to Nephi with Mr. Reardall's (the school director) consent to showr us what they had to offer. We found that that day that there were students going to the school from Salina to the south, to Gunnison. Sterling, Manti, Ml. Pleasant and other places. Students also were from Mona and Ncphi. There are students now from Millard County, Kanoh. Meadow. Fillmore, Scipio. Deseret. Delta and Oak City. This school is a member of a Division of Subcontracting System of Utah. They hase been able to receive many contracts for articles that students have been capable of making. It is a Sheltered Workshop." We thought it was good and thought Jessie would like it. so decided to gisc it a try. School was out here the last of May. Jessie started at Ncphi the first part of June. The bus or car came eserv morning and picked her up at 8 oclock, she arrised back home at 3:30 or 4:00. It is a vear round school. In the Mimmcr she takes her lunch. She can buy milk or pop at the school. We are happy to have a school that she enjoys going to. She is happy as she is doing the kind of work she likes to do. School there is the same as here. It is under the supervision of the Juab School District. They have a teacher to teach the students academic subjects for 9 months of the year. It would be a surprise to most people to see the amount of work that is pul out eserv day. As an incentive to work, they get for what thev paid Jessie has accomplish. learned to read her rule. Minutes In the days before English sailors became "limeys, swollen gums were a sign of scurvey. The English reportedly gained the nickname and definite reliefe from scurvey when they turned to citrus fruits for long voyages. Swollen gums still point to a vitamin C redeficiency, recent search confirms. Mouth cells which fight infection need a constant and adequate supply of vitamin C to triumph over organisms that cause gum disease. Continental Telephone calls it Phownership. Recently the Utah Public Service Commission issued a ruling deregulating single-part- y telephone sets removing them from the list of equipment which Continental rents to customers at regulated rates. ONLY NEW CUSTOMERS The ruling only applies to new, single-part- y customers. It does not apply to existing customers, or to new party line customers. Deregulation was scheduled to happen regardless; the Federal Communications Commission has ordered it effective Jan. 1. 1983. But both Continental and you will benefit from it. Here s how: Continental Telephone will benefit by being able to position itself for the more competitive marketplace of the future. And as more customers purchase their own telephone sets, capital will be freed for Continental to invest in service expansion and improvement projects. BENEFITS FOR YOU But you'll benefit even more. Youll be able to choose any style of telephone set in any available color to match the decor of your home. You'll save on installation fees when you simply plug in your own phone into the modular jack in your home. You'll save the monthly rental fee you'd otherwise pay to Continental for a telephone set. If you move, disconnection and reconnection will be a simple matter; you'll just unplug your phone from the old residence and plug it in at your new home. FREE KIT If you're already a telephone customer and your home doesn't have modular telephone jacks. Continental will give you a absolutely free modular conversion kit with simple instructions when you purchase a modular telephone set. Stop in at your Continental Phone Fair. There are more than 20 kinds of phones to choose from. Deregulation and Phownership: They mean a more competitive telephone industry and greater freedom of choice for you.
