If you have just four hours a month to attend the discussion meetings, then you will contribute to the League by voicing your ideas, and you will benefit by becoming more aware of how the government works. The League of Women Voters is happy with whatever time and energy a member can spare, and the member is still getting full value of her dues. The opportunities for involvement come in all sizes, shapes and time requirements. In the League there is room for everyone. All arent brains and all arent organizers. All dont think clearly and all cant talk forcefully. Porter, Mt. Pleasant. Porter by MARY LEE THOMPSON Summertime is picnic time and fun. Its also bacteria time and thats not fun. When bacteria begins to flourish, as it does in hot weather, food poisoning can be an unwelcome guest at your outing. So its wise to follow these rules for the preparation and preservation of perishable foods from the health inspection service of the U. S. Department of Agriculture. First, remember that germs grow faster in hot weather, so never leave food out in the sunshine. Keep it refrigerated and be sure your cooler is adequate to keep foods cold until ready to serve. If you cook food outdoors and want to serve it hot, then be sure to keep it hot until ready to eat. Meat and poultry should stay until cold cooked. e New presidency for 4th Ward Relief Society Dorothy Jean Christiansen was sustained as president of Mt. Pleasant Fourth Ward Relief Society recently.
