Visitors at the home of Mrs. Alyce Wilkins for four days have been Mr. and Mrs. Randall Joyner, their family Susan, h Kathy, Sherry, Steve, an old baby girl, and Mr. Phil Albritton, all from Pensacola, Florida. All eight visitors are converts to the Church, and while they were strangers to Mrs. Wilkins, they were friends of her grandson, Robert (Spooker) Deeble, so she was happy to welcome them to her home, and to help them on this very special trip here, that of going through the Manti L. D. S. Temple to have the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Joyner solemnized jfor time and eternity, and to have their children sealed to .hem. Mrs Anderson is a former resident. We will remember her us Ruth May Jacobson, daughter of Mrs. Orvilla Clement Jacobson, and the late Wilford Jacobson. Ruth May was born in Ftn Green, attended elementary and junior high here, and graduated from the Moroni High School. She married Earl H. Anderson in Salt Lake City, April 24, 1936. Mr. Anderson was born in and grew up in Salt Lake. They are the parents of five children, all of whom are married: Kenneth Paul of Redlands, California, who has five children; Donna May, New Jersey. Mr. Mrs. Geneva Hansen, Fairview, is staying with her Mrs. Fern daughter, Robertson. Other visitors at the home of Mrs. Robertson are Mr. and Mrs. John Tucker, and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Tucker of Provo. n Dorothy Oldroyd was hostess to the members of her club, Monday, August 14. The ladies had a delicious chicken dinner at the Ftn. Green Cafe, then the rest of the afternoon they spent at the Oldroyd home, where their hostess served melon to Theora Anderson, Nettie Bigler, Miss Karen Green, Bountiful, and her fiance, Mr. Brent spent Bingham, Arizona, Saturday with her aunt, Mrs. Mariana Schulze, Scott and Brian. Mr. Oliver Field, Ftn. Green, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin (Beverly) Scow, Rupert, Idaho drove to Denver where they visited with his sister Dorothy Draper, and her daughter. From there, Mr. Field, Beverly and Marvin drove to Wichita, Kansas, to attend the marriage ceremony and wedding of his niece, Miss Bonnie Lumly who is the daughter of Loretta, who used to live here. The young couple was married in their L. D. S. Ward by their Bishop. The groom-to-bnearly missed his own wedding. He had just finished his basic training in a U. S. Army Camp in California, caught the plane, but a bomb threat and scare prevented the plane from taking off for two hours....Result....a bit late for his happy meeting. e Mr. and Mrs. Ballard Christiansen and family, Rulon, Nina, Todd, Becky, Susan, Patrice have come along way .. .all worth it to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Christiansen, and a sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson (LuJane) Cook. It is good to have them come home. Rulon, Nina, and Todd will remain in Utah to attend the B. Y. U. this year. Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Spooker) Deeble and two sons from Pensacola, Florida, visited with their grandmother, Mrs. Alyce Wilkins, from Sunday to Wednesday. They had spent eight days with their parents in Corona, California. ..Mr. and Mrs. Joel Deeble, and will spend a week in Salt Lake with parents, Mr. and Mrs. A1 White. The Peter and May Terry Lauritzen Family Reunion was held Saturday afternoon and evening, August 19, in Mt. Pleasant, with dinner and program in the Orson Lauritzen home. The Park and swimming pool were reserved spots for the other activities. Orson Lauritzen is a cousin of Mrs. Scott Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lauritzen and son, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lauritzen and their two children from Hyrum, stayed overnight with Mr. and Mrs. Scott Cook and attended Sunday School here with them. Mr. Clyde Garrett and little daughter, Kathy, are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Scott Cook. Carolyn and Cheryl Garrett are attending the Laurel Conference being held at the B. Y. U. this week. The Crowther Cabin on the East Mt. was the scene for the Veriette Club outing Thursday evening, August 10. Mrs. Mariana Schulze was the hostess. She served a luscious Dutch-ovedinner and homemade ice right on the mountain close to a snow bank. Lots of fun and entertainment was planned by those in charge, such as ball games, horseshoe, races, a treasure hunt, hidden prizes to hunt tor, and of course, the dinner. There were 65 persons in attendance. The Despains have held their family reunions for over a period of thirty years, most of them being in Ftn. Green. Minnie Oldroyd, Mable Olsen, Mr. Despain was born in Ora Peterson, Dina Reese, Calhoun County, Illinois March Alyce Wilkins. 8, 1851. Mrs. Despain was born in Salt Lake City, March 21, 1855. They were married December 4, in Fountain Green by 1871 Sunday evening, August 20, Bishop C. J. Christiansen.
