PLEASANT LaRee Mills, Richard Rasmussen WA exchange wedding vows Saturday tour Europe Miss LaRee Mill-- , and Hnh-ar- d Rj.smus.sen, both of Salt Luke City, recited marriage vows Saturday, May 17, in the Fairview North Wald Chapel. A. J. Anderson, president of Noith Sanpete Stake, perform- ed the ceremony. The lovely new bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mills of Fairview, and the groom is a son of Mrs. Winnie Rasmussen, also of Fairview. Following the ceremony the couple was honored at a dinner for immediate family members hosted by the bride's parents. The bride is a graduate of North Sanpete High School and has been employed for several .tears in Salt Hike City Mr. Rasmussen is also a North Sanpete High School graduate and has completed a tour of duty with the armed forces ini hiding overseas duty in Thailand. He is presently employed in Salt Lake City. After honeymooning in the Southern Utah parks and Las Vegas, the young couple will make their home in Salt Lake Officer training for held 4-- H One hundred and sixty members, leaders and interested citizens attended the officers training meeting held Saturday in the Sanpete County Com thouse, according to Kay Willardson, USU Extension Service, who was in charge. The prospective groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Cook of Fountain Green. The couple has circled June 20 as the date of their marriage which will be solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. County DUP sets convention at Wales church North Sanpete County Daughters of Utah Pioneers will hold their annual convention Saturday, May 24 in Wales LDS Ward Church. Captain Ona Anderson, of Wales will be in charge. State president Kate B. Carter, Salt Lake City, will be in attendance, and she will be accompanied by other state officers. They will be the guest speakers at the convention. Election of officers will be held. The morning session begins 10 a.m. At 12 noon Coal Bed Camp DUP will serve luncheon. A short afternoon session will be held. All DUP members in North Sanpete County are invited to attend. at Miss Hazel Cheney ... in honors program Hazel Cheney gets summer term scholarship Hazel Cheney has received a scholarship to participate in the George Washington University Secondary School National Honors Program this summer in Washington, D. C. Hazel will be enrolled in classes with regular college students on the campus for the first six week term from June 16 to July 25. The program also provides a diversified cultural and recreational program for weekend activities with visits to points of national interest. There will be 120 high school students from throughout the United States who will participate in the program. Hazel, who will be a senior student at North Sanpete High School next year, has maintained a 4. (A) average for the past five years. Au-stu- 4-- H Susan Gaye Carlsfon, Paul Cook chose June 20 for wedding date (Ul'AII) PYRAMID Debbie Allen engaged to marry Monte Larsen in June ceremony Clara Collard Nielson . . . uas 95 Thursday Oldest resident, Fountain Green, reaches 95 years Clara Collard Nielson celebrated her 95th birthday Thursday. She is Fountain Greens oldest citizen. She was born in Fountain Green May 22, 1874, a daughter of Cornelius and Sarah Booth Collard. She married James L. Nielson August 22, 1900, in the Salt Lake Temple. Mrs. Nielson has made her home in Ftn. Green all her 95 years. Her husband passed away January of 1964. Mrs. Nielson has served for many years as a teacher in Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society. She was a member of Fountain Green Ward Choir for many years and was known throughout the ward and the stake for her beautiful singing voice. Until a short time ago, she kept up her own home doing all her household duties. She also kept her yard beautiful. She has kept herself always neat and is a very happy and interesting person to visit. Mrs. Nielson has been spending the past year staying with her children, Phares, living in Ftn. Green; Alma C., Provo, and her daughter Mrs. W. K. (Ivy) Seager of Mesa, Arizona, where she is now. Mrs. Nielsons name appeared in the birthday section for those reaching the age of 95 in the LDS Relief Society Magazine for May.
