Pleasant Lions Club and their wives were honored by a visit from their district governor, Mr. Dee G. Cowan and his wife, Winona, of Cedar City. Mr. Cowan has been a member of the Cedar City Lions Club for 18 years. He is manager of Hunter Hardware in Cedar City. He served as a captain in the Army Air Force in World War II and piloted 4 and 5 bombers. Harry Hansen, president of the local Lion Club, stated Mr. Cowan gave an interesting and informative address on Lionism and what we can do to attain international peace through our relations with other Lions throughout the wopld. (Lions International is the largest service organization in the world.) Robert E. Hales of Fountain Green, student body president of North Sanpete High School, gave a lecture on Communism, its threat to society and what we as individuals can do to thwart communistic goals. Mr. Hale attended the Freedom Academy at Camp Williams in August of this year. His trip was by the Fountain Green Sportsman Club and the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club. Grant Johansen and Calvin Jeppson, both members of the Mt. Mrs. Osborne was born in Spring City October 22, 1884, a daughter of William Edward Robinson and Lovina Smith Allred Robinson. She was married to Osmon Osborne of Spring City, August 24, 1904. He died in 1947. Mrs. Osborne is actively engaged in quilt making, piecing numerous quilts of beautiful design, making many articles of handiwork, reading and work' ing in her family genealogical work. In the past ten years she has cut, pieced and marked 200 quilts. She works diligently in piecing quilts for the ward Relief Society and her family. She is adept in crocheting beautiful articles. In the past she has made many dresses, coats and suits and numerous articles of burial clothing. Mrs. Osborne lias been active in LDS Church work, chairman of the ward Relief Society work committee, a Relief Society visiting teacher for many years, secretary of the ward YWMIA, class teacher in the ward Pri mary, first counselor in the Pri mary, MIA BeeHive teacher. She was a captain, vice captain and secretary in the DUP and has served in the auxiliary organizations of the ward. She is the mother of six sons and daughters, Virgus Osborne, Victor Osborne, Spring City; Gardell Osborne, Fairview; Mrs. Hyrum (Emma) Sorensen, Mrs. E. L.
