As I review the past five years at Fillmore Hospital, I am filled with gratitude, a sense of accomplishment, and now a feeling of loss. to I have gratitude Health Intermountain Care and to the Fillmore Governing Hospital Board for the opportunity to serve as administrator of a truly fine hospital for these pasf five years, gratitude to the medical staff that has remained during that time and gratitude for the privilege cf working with some extraordinarily sensitive and dedicated employees. This is all superior to what one would expect to find in a small rural tion without many regrets even though my new challenge will be exciting. I take pride in what we have accomplished at Fillmore Hospital. Each year, the stature of the hospital in the commu-nit- y is greater. We have not only tried to meet b l.Ua ( roslund fez j BYU. THINK PINK! Pink Day at the City Park May 23, 1981 4 p.m. Bring the whole family -- for a fun-fille- UP&L d Sunday, March 29, the Buzzards Motorcycle Club of Salt Lake sponsored a beautiful day of racing for 312 racers. That means that at least twice that many people were there to help the bikers, and to run the race organization. That is close to a thousand people by conservative estimated, banded together in the beautiful Utah desert to celebrate the spring. The celebration started at 11 a.m. when the experts and amateurs roared out, followed by novices, and at 1 p.m., five ladies, and at 2:00 p.m., 52 miniracers hit the trail. Local riders did well at this race in our backyard! The course covered 20 miles on the east side of the road to Tooele from Delta. Vernon was the closest town. Don Fuller was in second on his last year's YZ 465 Yamaha when they raced out of sight, later moving into the lead, but finishing at third overall, 1st over 30. The "senior classes have grown so much they are now split into over 30, over 38, and over 44 (Super Magnums). This course was fast, and had steep hills which favored the big bikes. The next Sugarloafcr in after Don was Jeff Robison, an amateur at 14th overall, and 4th in his class. The I I Super 250s first place in 2nd or 3rd usually overall, but didn't make it until 16th overall, with Kevin Jones 4th in his class, Dan Bringard 7th, and Kevin Bogue, 9th. Thayne Henrieor. his first run since being moved to the expert took 14th in the open class. Dan Wade, after three years away from the sport made a return for open amateur. Jay Warnick and Mike Underwood rode 250 amateur. Hal Wing had 1st over 38 and Rick Moody d and Mike Stanworth Phil novice. open Smith also rode that class, the largest of the day with 42 entered. Vince Cropper and Tom Greenwood rode senior class. Mini trophies went to Robbie Fuller, Cameron Cropper, Shelby Cropper, Shane Stanworth had 3rd, Blair Cropper 5th, Lance Hen-ri- e 3rd, Jason Thomas 4th, Shane Baker 7th, Brandon Thomas 4th; Warren Baker 5th, and Tiffany Cropper, a powder jiuff rgeer, with a great 3 in her class. The next desert event is scheduled for April 11, a Saturday in the Cherry Creek area. The next motocross for our district is the 4th and 5th at Motoqua, a race park in Salt Lake. Tuesday filed with the Utah Public Service Commission for permission to reduce rates by million S8.4 through 1981. 30, September The company explained the reduction request was made possible because fuel and energy costs for the period were lower than projected and asked the rate reduction be effective on service on and after April 1, 1981. If approved by the commission, it will mean a reduction of about one dollar per month to the typical Utah residential user without water or space heating service. The request is the second UP&L initiated rate this reduction year. Beginning on January 1, 1981, the company asked and received permission for a rate reduction of some $2 million that cut 45 cents per month to the typical Utah residential user. In Friday's application and in the previous application to reduce rates, the company cited favorable weather conditions and favorable operating conditons that reduced fuel and other energy costs below estimated levels projected through 1981. Fuel September costs are the company's largest single cost of than 35 operations-mo- re percent of the total operating expenses. The Utah Public Service Commission reviews with Utah Power A Light Co. its cost estimates with respect to fuel and purchase power costs on a quarterly basis. These are considered items from other separately costs of operation usually considered during a general rate case and are not a part of UP&Ls rate application of S56.9 million-a- n increase of some 13 percent over under present rates-no- w advisement by the Utah commission.
