MCMBfR OF THE (USPS 446-74- 0) CITY LOOKING FOR SOLUTIONS TO WATER PROBLEMS Fillmore City has engaged the services of the engineering firm of Nielsen, Maxwell and Wangsgard, according to Fillmore City Administrator, Dwight Dav. Mr. Wangsgard was in Fillmore on the 11th and spent the day going over the city's water system and assisting in the preparation of the full application to FmHA for funding of the improvements needed. That application was filed March 13th. Roger Stowell of IPP and Administrator Day have prepared the application with some assistance from the engineer. "The city wishes to publicly thank IPP for their valuable assistance, Day said. RETIRES AFTER 21 YEARS OF SERVICE Staff Sergeant Clayton Edwards retired from the Army National Guard on March 19, 1981 after completing 21 years of service, spread over 24 years. Sgt. Edwards enlisted on Feb. 1, 1957 and was assigned to Battery C, 2nd Battalion, 213th Field Artillery. He acted as Battery Drill Sergeant for two years while serving 10 years in the Communications section. He has served as Mess Sergeant for the past five years in Detatchment 1, Battery C, 2nd Battalion. 222nd Field Artilley in Fillmore. He attended 25 Summer Camps including one in Puerto Rico in 1960 and one at Ft. Greeley, Alaska in 1966. Clayton not only always looked and acted as a soldier should, he always did his job in an outstanding manner. The team, coached by Vem Stewart, took first place over five other local teams in the Army National Guards Bantam Basketball League locally. The other five teams were sponsored by R & R Services, Flowell Electric, American Legion, Delta, and the Fillmore National Guard unit. The Carling team, containing mostly Meadow, Utah boys, played the Beaver Armory champions Tuesday night, March 17, 1981. Mr. Holman comes to the High School well prepared and qualified for the Head Wrestling position at Millard High School for 7 years. He developed an outstanding record at this school. For the past year he has been working on a part time basis at the Delta High School in a special program. Mr. Holman has the outstanding ability to work with young people and expresses a keen interest in their individual growth. The Board of Education and Administration feel that he will be a great asset at the school in this position, and that he will continue to build a strong wrestling program at Delta High. He graduated from Delta High in 199 and completed his BS Degree at Southern Utah State College in 1973, majoring in physical education with a minor in health education. He, himself, has an outstanding athletic background in both high school and college, with two first place medals in State of Utah high school wrestling meets, and being named the Most Valuable Wrestler at Southern Utah State College from 1969 thru 1973. Mr. Holman is the son of Mr. and Mrs Earl F. Holman of Delta, Utah, and is married to Margo Nielson. They are the parents Of two children. |
