Rollovers continued from front page Two people were in critical condition Sunday, April 6, 1980, when the 1970 Ford Mavrick they were in rolled over four miles north of Delta at 1 p.m. The driver. Rondo Grimshaw, 22, of Delta and his passenger, Theresa Viola Talbert, 17, of Lyndyll were taken to West Millard Hospital in Delta. Both suffered head injuries and Miss Talbert also suffered chest injuries. The vehicle was southbound on SR-when it left the right side of the road and rolled over. Also on Sunday, April 6, 1980, at 5 p.m. a 1978 Toyota pickup rolled over on one mile south of Fillmore. The driver, Karen A. Pediculosis (Lice) and Scabies (Itch Mite) are common scalp and skin diseases. Although these are considered minor as fat as any complications or longstanding effects, they are generally annoying at the time. Pediculosis is most commonly seen in the form of head lice. Their bites and stings cause tiny openings in the skin as well as itching. Lice are very contagious when spread by close contact. Sources of infection include infected persons, bedding, clothing, towels, etc. combs, brushes, The louse can be seen as a small light brown insect, usually on the crown of the head. The eggs or nits of the lice can be seen on the strands of the hair, usually in the back and close to the hair line and scalp, and appear as white specks. However, they can not be easily removed from the hair. The treatment consists of one application of medicated shampoo, according to your doctors instructions. h A comb is then used to remove all of the nits. The hair need not be cut or shaved, as older methods advocated. All bedding, clothing, towels, etc. must be washed in hot water and machine dried. items such as furniture and carpets should be shampooed and vacuumed. All other items, if possible should be exposed to direct sunlight. Scabies is a skin disease caused by an almost invisible insect, the "itch mite. Scabies is also very contagious and spread by close personal contact. Symptoms as small red appear bumps under the skin, with intense itching, par fine-toot- ticularly at night. There may also be red or grayish "thread white between marks your fingers, on your elbows, hands or wrist. The treatment consists of taking a warm bath and covering the entire body from neck down with the cream or lotion that your doctor has prescribed. This should be left on for 24 hours. This should be repeated again in 5 to 7 days. The itching may still be present for a few days, even though the treatment has been successful. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO EXCEED THE NOT RECO-MENDE- NUMBER OF TREATMENTS. Allergic reactions and adverse have been known to occur to the medication due to skin absorption, particularly in small children. Again, as with lice, machine washing with hot water of bedding, clothing towels, etc. needs to be completed, as well as particular attention paid to brushes, combs and furniture upholstery. Other family members and close family contacts should also be checked for similar symptoms and advised to check with their family physician foi treatment. UHP Trooper Clayton Allred was the investigating officer for all three of the above accidents. Two men were taken to Fillmore Hospital Friday, April 4, 1980, after their 1980 Toyota Cclica rolled over. UHP Trooper Randy Lythgoe, the investigating officer, said the driver, Vu Anh Tuan, 21, and his passenger, Brandon Diep, 24, both of Huntington Beach, California were southbound on near the south Holden exit when the accident happened. Trooper Lythgoe said the vehicle drifted to the left and the driver corrected to the right. The auto then started to slide sideways and by the time it left the road it was going backwards and rolled onto its top. It came to rest in the divider. Both men suffered scrapes and bruises. They were taken to the hospital by Fillmore Ambulance EMTs Denny Brunson, Norma Brunson, and Scott Tarbct. The driver was cited for speed too fast for conditions. ' APPRENTICESHIP AWARENESS DAY Presently more jobs exist in the construction industry than the workers to fill them. Apprenticeship Programs can meet that demand. training with Apprenticeship combines related classroom instruction. You earn, learn and work at the same time. A variety of skills, aptitudes, and personal qualities are evaluated when choosing apprentices (high school diploma or GED, vocational school education, good health, good hand and eye coordination, and ambition.) Apprenticeship training is not a temporary job; it is the basis of a fine career. It is hard, exacting, but rewarding. Interested!
