June 19 "9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fillmore City Building. Notice of time, place, and agenda of the meeting were provided The Progress. Radio Station KNAK and each member of the governing body by mailing copies of the Notice and Agenda on June 4. 1979. Those present for the meeting were: Mavor. Robert A. Edimembers son: council A. Alison Robison. Duane O. Bartholomew. Merlin A. Hare. Doris Rasmussen. Robert A. Nielson excused; Recorder. Carol C. Wise; and visitors Don Fullmer. Robert H. Fish. Ed Phillips. Kenneth L. Hare. Cal Stewart. Don Stuart. Robert Frampton. Lloyd C. Keel, and Mont Snyder. Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Edison. Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed. Motion to approve minutes made by Councilman Robison, seconded by Councilman Motion carried. Hare. Vote was unanimous. Mr. Bertis Frampton. Millard School Board Pre- presented the school district's "Consent to Close Street between A Blocks 67 and 68. proposed ordinance providing for the closure and vacating of that part of West Second Street lying between Block 67 and 68 and more particularly described as folsident. Mr. JerE requested Brinkcrhoff for sprinkling the race track during the races scheduled lor Fillmore. Council approved the request the schedule provided and place for getting the water is worked out with City water supervisors. Council approved an ad in the race program for S25.00 on motion by Councilman Robison, Council-woma- n seconded by Rasmussen. Motion carried. Vote was water unanimous. At 8:00 a public p.m. hearing on the 1979-8budget, having been advertised. was held. Recorder Wise distributed copies of the proposed budget to everyone present and reviewed the budget message, anticipated revenues and expenditures. Mayor Edi0 son asked for comments or questions for those Councilman present. Robison noted that funds for sidewalk and traffic sign projects from the State should be added to the budget. After a discussion of the proposed budget Council agreed to study the matter until the next regular meeting. Mr. Mont Snyder, as a representative of the Minutemen of the local unit of the National Guard, requested that the letter written to Major General Maurice Watts and his reply be read. After this a short discussion was had with Minutemen and Council. It was agreed that the Mayor. Council, and Minshould meet utemen with Major General Watts to discuss the need for a new armory. Federal Lands Removed From Natural Resource Exploration An oil industry spokesman told the Utah Cattlemen's Association Friday that the removal of Federal lands from natural resource exploration is further evidence that our National Energy Policy is in a state of anarchy.
