New Mexico. and Dennis Peggy Thornlon and four girls came from Provo. Terri Lynn Baldwin and two little boys were down from Payson. Parents will be notified of a change in schedule of the BYU personnel who are going to help with the District summer school program, the starting date has been delayed one week. On June 22. there will be an orientation of all personnel involved in teaching summer school. Beginning June 25 for one week, there will be a week of individual programming during which an individualized program will be developed Due to the exact time that they are to bring their child in fora staffing. Summer School will then begin for all students on July 2 at 8:30 a.m. at the elementary school. We feel very lucky to have Mrs. Rockwood speak as her schedule is filled a year in advance. Youth are asked to pay a registration fee of $3.00 to cover the cost for dinner and the dance. Youth are also asked to fast for the day until dinner to increase spirituality. Youth are asked to dress in Sunday dress for the activities of the day and can bring casual dress for the dinner and dance that evening. Each year the public seems to become more aware of this activity and how much the proceeds from this one event have benefited the hospital. It is evident in their generous support by dobaked goods, nating bazaar items and really good saleable rummage. We would like to thank all who donated from the bottoms of our pink, pink hearts-y- ou really made our day. And to those who attended Pink Day and enjoyed buying the many fine things we had to offer, we would like to extend our thanks and hope you had as good a time as we did. She will present numbers on both Piano and Flute. The public is cordially invited to attend. Lenore has been actively engaged in music for some time, having studied piano for eight years. fiMst at home, then with Cathryn Neil-seGaye Platte, and presently with Kirby Giles. She has studied flute with the band and privately for a short time with Gaye Platte and Julia Van Soest. As a student at Millard High School, she has excelled in music, scholIn astics. and sports. has lettered she sports in softball two years, two basketball years, volleyball one year, and two track and field years, still holding the Junior High Girls Shot ScholasPut record. tically sfre maintains a High Honor Roll GPA of 3.92, is a Charter Member of the Millard High School Chapter National Honor Society, Class of 80 Junior High Valedictorian, Scholastic Girl Athlete 1978-7chosen to attend Girls State, is a member of the 1979-8Millard High Drill Team, received I Dare the Danforth You award 1979-7and has been elected as Studentbody for 1979-80- . She has also been a member of business and FHA vocational teams, competing with honor at SUSC Vocational Days. Lenore is also active in church work. She has been the Seminary Librarian and a class officer. In music, the accompand honors lishments are many. She has been a member of Millard bands for six years, playing flute and piccolo. She is a member of the concert band, pep band, and stage band as the She key board artist. has served as band secretary. On a local level. Lenore has participated in the Millard School District "Gifted and Talented program, as of the school musical, tutored in the fifth grade music proand performed gram. both piano and flute solos at church and civic meetings, one being the Utah Statehood Days celebration this year. On a region level. Lenore has competed for three years, this year receiving a superior rating with a flute solo and piano solo, and participated two years in the SUSC reading sight clinic. Lenore is an outstanding example of our young people and we hope this is just the beginning of a series of annual presentations to feature the more advanced students of music in our area.
