Dutson - Publisher Jane Wilson - FILLMORE steua by Marge Barton Reporter Photographer Compositor - day Just a few years ago before there were so mans electrical gadgets, the children of each home learned so many skills that helped them all through Ide, but now children are no longer expected to help in the home, F are consumers ol goods and services rather than producers ol goods and services. I his means that families require mmh more ready cash than they used to require. It also means that the environment in the home was much more peacetul and relaxing When dad has to hurts through breakfast and the older children lie m bed longer since they dont have jobs to do before getting ready lor school, there isnt that camaraderie among parents and children that there used to be when they all sat down to breakfast together. Now each member gtabs a bowl ol his lavorite prepared cereal according to w hen he has to be to work or school. As the children get older and more money is required, even mother gets a job in order to pay the high cost ol the environment of the home is entirely living i hanged, and homemakers need special training. In order to have a proper home environment, young men and women need a professional who will assure them of a wav ol earning a living and in addition they need courses m home economies in order that they will understand how to manage a home. Thev should be familial with the credit system, banking services, taxes, health, life- and fire insurance rates and wavs to prepare lor retiring in later lile. I hex should be familiar with the choices which are available and then be able to choose the one which will be most helpful to them in the future. Life today is much more complicated than it was even 25 years ago. I woof the most important needs which are generally met m the family environment are values and moral codes. It is in the tanulv circle where we First learn our ideas of what is right and what is wrong; we learn to love and respect the members according to their actions. In past years, we modeled our lives according to the members of our families. The boys generally wanted to be just like the fathers and the girls like the mothers. However, I arrived and really young become exposed to all sorts of characters. Small' CALENDAR December Wiesilmg ,ii v r , , nt f r FIRST BIRTHDAY Hello cvciybodv.
