An neresrtnc and educational vacation was enjoyad roerntlyby Roma Bird and her daughter Ferris when they visited at the home of Romas brother Dwaln Cull who Is In El Salvador doing experimental worn for the University of Florida and 'a connected with the U.s Embassy. We flew on West rn Air Lines to Los Angeles then boarded a big Pan American plane to and thud! transfered to a smaller plane to San Salvador where Dwaln and family were thiti to greet us. Was very contorting to see a familiar face In this strange land, people of Indian deseirt and everyone speaking Spanish, Our introduction to Salvador-snltitravel was breath taking. W turned out of the parking lot and on to the highway and tCURiJ ourselves amid many economy cars racing and darting at breakneck speed from one side of the narrow road to the other wherever an opening presented Itself. Pedestrsns were also darting across the street I was glad that among the we had an atpirienced driver. There seem to be two classes of people rich ami poor. We flew directly over this one on our way home but unfortunately we were sitting In the middle Isle and couldnt see It. The of the many ruins churches caused by earthquakes In 1773 la the Antigua area mere Interesting and we marveled at the workmanship and preserve Hon of these ruins. The first Sunday we visited .he L.D.S. ward where Dwaln is In the Bishopric and everything said or sung was In Spanish. We didnt understand very nuch, but was a good egper-enc- e.
