Our Impression the people has not changed one lota. There wasnoWel-com- e Wagon" but the friendly good wishes and gifts of flowers and fruit, etc. made all else unnecessary. The big change has occ tired recently In the services of the City of Fillmore. In the past, meeds were slowly burned out of the ditches and then 9 rrpw t f gPfiin4 men with shovels who straightened and dug out the debris. This year the burner" crew went through at 20 miles per hour and no follow-up was made in clearing and straightening the ditches, especially on those streets where the sewer contractors had disrupted them. Formerly, weeds on the street side were cut twice a year. Last year a short swipe was made on 2nd East north of Canyon Road, but quitting time ar- and the weed cutters not been seen since. It appears the City has hired more Chiefs", but there are not enourh "Indians" to do ihe urgent work. One ran handled the work in past years, with a crew of efficient men and tl work was done quickly and alwavs completed. No half-wamethods were used.
